Dear families,

This week our teachers are finalizing their assessment and reporting for the semester. Over the past two weeks, I have had the pleasure to analyse our children’s learning data and gather some information to assist with next term’s programming. This involves looking at samples of each child’s reading, spelling and numeracy. We look at key learning that has taken place and use the information to support your child in the future. I am so proud of where our children are at and the way they approach their learning. They have all improved and everyone should be proud of their efforts. Academic success is however only one aspect of life and we all need to remember our children have many other gifts to share. Parents, be proud. Your child is a star!

Our School Achievement. A data collection of our Eastern Catholic Schools has shown that our school has performed well in its development in Literacy. St Mary’s Alexandra is in the top 3 schools for student improvement in Reading. Congratulations to the staff and children for their efforts and focus on developing reading and comprehension. GREAT WORK!

School Reports. Our school reports will be sent home on June 24th. These reports will outline what skills your child has achieved and the outcomes we will be working on next semester. Due to the COVID 19 virus the Education Department have asked that schools not use the A to E reporting for this period of schooling. Our staff will be making contact with all families before the end of term to clarify the report and what level your child is working at. Contact may be by phone or written, depending on when you last spoke to your child’s teacher.

WINTER UNIFORM. Please make sure all students are wearing their full winter uniform: Girls: Navy pants Newly added: Navy skort with Navy tights Light blue skivvy / polo top / shirt Navy windcheater / polar fleece White socks Black shoes / boots Boys: Grey slacks Light blue skivvy / polo top / shirt Navy windcheater / polar fleece Grey or white socks Black shoes / boots Sport: Navy and white sports top Navy tracksuit White socks Runners Year 6 students wear their Rugby Jumper Adrian Cheer Principal
