Wear odd socks for World
Downs Syndrome Day
WORLD DOWNS SYNDROME DAY 2020
On Saturday, 21st March, the world
will be coming together to celebrate World Down
Syndrome Day. So jump in with both feet and join the
millions of people who will be standing tall and show-
ing support by wearing outrageous, colourful and non
-matching socks, spreading awareness and fun
throughout the land.
We shall be celebrating Down Syndrome Day in
school on Friday, 20th
March 2020. Children are
invited to ‘Rock your Socks’ and wear odd socks
or just colourful ones!
Families are invited to donate £1 for Together 21 –
an organisation that supports a project supported by
Pioneering Core Partnership (PCP) which serves
families throughout the North East. The partnership
helps children and young people with Downs
syndrome and their parents acquire essential skills
that will equip them to meet their future needs with
confidence. Thank you

Article 14
Every child has the right to practise their religion
Children’s Rights
LENT
Article 24 Every child has the right to good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment.
During Lent, we shall be fundraising for CAFOD - the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development.
CAFOD helps communities whose rights are being ignored – this happens in countries throughout the world – where resources are extracted, and people exploited without any thought of the damaging effects to the environment and those who live there.
By protecting the people of our world, we also protect the world itself. Thank you for any support you can give your children in their fundraising efforts for CAFOD.
During Lent we ask that you collect any small change and send it in to school
Your small Change can make a Big Change in our World
Article 32: You have the right to protection from work that harms you, and is bad for your health and education. If you work, you have the right to be safe and paid fairly.
SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT
St Mary’s RC Primary School is safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and ex-
pects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We politely request that all parents, carers, contractors
and visitors to school respect our safeguarding culture of vigilance. Please help us to keep our school commu-
nity safe and support school in reporting any concerns and/or inappropriate behaviour or actions through the ap-
OUTDOOR PLAY EQUIPMENT—URGENT
Concerns have been raised regarding the use of our Trim Trail, Adventure Playground and Foundation Stage outdoor equipment, beyond normal school hours.
It is my duty to ensure all playground equipment is used appropriately and safely during the day. I am unable to do this before 9.00am and after 3.30pm.
The outside equipment, Adventure Playground and Trim Trail is not to be used by the children before and after school hours with or without adult supervision.
Thank you.
SPONSORED READ
Your child should have been given a sponsored
read form - please return the form along with any
sponsorship money, to the school office or class
teacher by Friday 20th March 2020.
Thank you for your continued support

If you have an older child provide him/her with an opportunity to take part in The Stations of the Cross. Ask your child/ren how
