    Mission Statement

We, the community of the faithful of St. Mary of Carleton Place, inspired

by the living Spirit of Christ, join together in concretely living out in our

daily life the message of salvation proclaimed by our Lord and Saviour

Jesus Christ. From the mission received from our Baptism in the

Risen Christ, we will endeavour to bring his message of salvation to the world around us. Therefore, we will try to enrich our parish community

through our liturgical celebrations and regular prayer meetings, to deepen

the faith life of our community through Catechetical programs for children,

youth and adults, to raise an awareness of justice and peace in the

minds and hearts of all people, and instill in all members of our Parish

community a caring and loving disposition toward the poor, the sick

and the needy of our wider community and of the world. Our

parish life and mission are dedicated to the patronage of Mary, Mother of

Mercy, the true icon of our loving and merciful God.

    Father’s Reflection:

    Precious Gifts

The gift of hearing is a precious gift. But it is only with the

heart that we can hear rightly. The cry of a needy person may

reach our ears, but unless it reaches our heart we will not feel

the person’s pain, and it is unlikely that we will respond. And

the gift of speech is a precious gift. But again it is only with

the heart that we can speak rightly. For our words to ring

true, they must come from the heart. If they come only from

the lips, they will have a hollow sound and will have little

effect. They will be like wind that ruffles the surface of the

water but leaves the depths untouched. But words that come

from the heart, enter the heart.

    Please check the lost &

    found items on the table

    near the washrooms.

    Remaining items will be

donated to the Hub at the

    beginning of each month.

Please continue to send in your Refugee Pledges.

envelope in the collection. Please label the envelope

    “Refugee Pledge”. Thanks

The position of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario

is that publicly funded Catholic schools in our province have

provided a family life curriculum consistent with our faith for

more than 30 years. The Fully Alive Program, sponsored

and developed with the approval of the Ontario Bishops,

provides family life education consistent with our Catholic

teachings, appropriate within the context of our Catholic

classrooms, and complementary to the efforts of parents to

guide their children to full Christian maturity-and will

    continue to do so.
