FROM THE PASTOR

Dear St. Matthew’s Parishioners,

During this time of trial and uncertainty for our nation and the world, I ask that we join together as a parish family, praying daily for those who are suffering and dying from the coronavirus, for those who are caring for them, and for those who are working to contain the virus’ spread and develop vaccines. I have sent a letter to all parish households with more information; that letter is also posted on our parish website. Below you will find a prayer recommended by Bishop Burbidge - please offer it daily - and details on the revised confession schedule.

Yours in Christ, Fr. Eversole

Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us!

A Prayer to Jesus for Healing and Guidance

Jesus, Son of God, you were sent by the Father to bear our weakness; be with us in this time of crisis.

Merciful Savior, heal and comfort the sick, so that with health restored, they may give you praise.

Divine Physician, accompany our caregivers so that, serving with patience, they may heal wisely.

Eternal Wisdom, guide our leaders so that, seeking remedies, they may follow your light.

Christ, the Anointed, protect us in body and spirit, so that, freed from harm, we may be delivered from all affliction.

Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Peace of Jesus Christ, Joanne Warren

Journey through Scripture reads the Bible from the heart of the Church, engaging both the Old and New Testaments and how they work together. It's grounded in history,

yet actively engages topics faced by today's Catholic. More than just an ordinary Bible study, it's biblical catechesis. Handmaid of the Lord-Session 2 zooms in on the story of the Annunciation in the Gospel of Luke.
