Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

There are not enough words to say thank you for this past month. Thank you for all the amazing

Pastor Appreciation gifts... for all your cards and thoughtful words, for all the ways you have

encouraged me...you have filled the cup of my life, not just to the top, but to overflowing.

As we enter into the month of November and our minds move towards Thanksgiving and

gratitude, I want you to know how grateful I am for each and every one of you. There are so

many things to be thankful for...so many people who have a part of this ministry. I am thankful

for those of you who teach Sunday School and Confirmation, those who serve on the council,

those of you who quilt, those of you who help care for the property at Saint Matthew’s, for those

who count the offering, those who work with our youth, those who decorate our worship space,

those who prepare and serve communion, for those who read, for those who visit our shut-ins,

those who volunteer, those who staff the food pantry...I could go on and on. I am so thankful for the ways that you use your hands to do God’s work in this place and in our community.

I am also thankful for the ways that you give in other ways as well. If you haven't had a chance

to be in worship lately, you also haven’t gotten to hear the new Clavinova (keyboard). A huge thank you to all of you who helped to make such a major unplanned purchase in the middle of

the year! Our pianists have been enjoying getting to know the new instrument and

experimenting with all the different things that it can do.

Maybe the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians said it best when he wrote: “I thank my

God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my prayers for all

of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confident of this,

that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of

Jesus Christ.“

God is at work in and among you my friends. He is doing good work through your hands,

through your time, through your gifts. Thank you for your care, your dedication to this ministry

and your love of the Lord. I pray this month of Thanksgiving can bless you as you have been

blessing others.

In celebration of Thanksgiving, I also wanted to personally invite you to the Thanksgiving Eve

Service on Weds Nov 23 at 7 pm. We will give thanks to the God who blesses us all, and then

join in pie fellowship after worship. Let us gather and give thanks. Thanks be to God.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Amy
