Thursday Daily Mass

The Eucharistic mystery has always been the center of the spiritual life of the faithful, although devotion to the Eucharist has assumed various forms throughout its history. The Scripture readings for today’s Solemnity invites us to return to the roots of the mystery by which Christ remains among us forever under the species of bread and wine. In fact, through transubstantiation Christ becomes the bread of life and the cup of salvation, the nourishment that heals our souls. He becomes part of our physical bodies to sanctify us. The Eucharistic devotion, Adoration, invites us to pray in silence and to praise the God of love and mercy who never abandons us. But our participation in the Eucharistic liturgy must always be the highlight of our spiritual journey.
Join today! Please see our friendly leaders outside the
church after Mass, or call our Parish office at 951-325-7707. Study groups will begin to meet the week of July 15th. You can select from any of the following times: Sunday at 3pm, Monday at 11am, Tuesday at 5:30 and 6pm, or Wednesday at 4 and 6pm.
STUDY
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM On June 22, Catholics around the world will mark the feast day of Sts. John Fisher and Thomas More, the bishop and chancellor executed by Henry VIII two weeks apart in 1535 for the crime of refusing to acknowledge the religious supremacy of the king of England. Most Catholics in the United States today are “blissfully ignorant” when it comes to threats to religious freedom. “They say, ‘I can go to church on Sunday, so there’s no problem with my religious freedom.”
To advocate for religious freedom in the areas of adoption and foster care. Several states already restrict adoption and foster care services to organizations that are willing to place children in homes with same-sex couples. That eliminates Catholic agencies from consideration. In Illinois, Massachusetts, California, and in Washington, D.C., they’ve had to end those services simply for operating in a manner that is consistent with our Catholic values,”
Free to Seek the Truth: The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops says: “Religious freedom gives us the space to carry out the mission that Jesus has entrusted to the Church. Religious freedom means that Catholics, and all people of goodwill, are free to seek the truth and to live in accordance with that truth, and so to strengthen our common life as a nation. In the midst of our current challenges, join us as we seek the kingdom and find ‘Strength in Hope.’” Learn more at USCCB.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek.
