Adoration begins

each Monday immediately

following 9:00AM Mass.

Benediction 6:00PM

Prayer for the Feast of the EpiphanyDear Jesus,

though a newborn, the wise men knew your greatness.

On a hint from the heavens, they traveled far from their places

of comfortso that they could honor you.

From their belief in your divinity, they gave amazing gis,

offerings that symbolizedyour life, power and even your death.

And because of a dream in the night, they altered their welllaid

plans to return home in order to protect you.

May we be so willing to honor, sacrifice and obey,

all for love of you,as we meditate on the meaning of this day.

Amen.

And behold the star that they had seen at it ‘s rising preceded them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. They were overjoyed at seeing the star. (Matthew 2:9-10)

Throughout my years as a priest I have had a handful of people tell me that they have had a life changing experience…that a retreat or conference or life experience has changed their lives. I would like to think that our

celebration of the Season of Christmas would be a life changing experience for all of us. Parts of our society; the news media, entertainment, shop and store owners have placed so much emphasis on Christmas Day that the experience can be limited to just December 25th. Yet, if we reflect on the magnitude of that first Christmas we realize that that one day in history has impacted our world more than any other day in history. The challenge is to allow the birth of Christ to impact our lives, and in fact, change our lives three-hundred-sixty-five days a year.

Today’s feast of the Three Kings, who brought gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to the infant child Jesus is a reminder that we need to avoid the lure of the world that sometimes impedes our journey to Christ. The Three Kings were determined to reach the child…following a star, rejecting King Herod’s words of warning and rejoicing when they found the newborn King.

May we, like these Three Kings, be “wise men and women” and rejoice each day of our lives that God so loved the world that he sent us His Son.

Enjoy the Christmas Season, Father Redcay

taught & lived in bright, spacious classrooms & state of the art facilities.

Since the celebration of our 100 Anniversary in 2015, we have established themes as a focus for our parish community and a guide for our worship. These themes emphasize a particular gift or grace offered by God to assist us in our relationship with Him. As we begin this new year, I encourage each of us to embrace the 2018 theme ~

Beloved Children of the Father.

As His Beloved Children, we have been part of God’s love story. He has shared His life and love with us and desires for us to rest in His embrace. Chris Stefanick, an acclaimed Catholic author and speaker, spoke about the great love story of the Catholic Church at the 2017 National Catholic Youth Conference saying, “This love story doesn’t just show you who God is. It shows you who you are.”

So, who are we? We are Beloved Children of the Father! Perhaps this is a new concept or view for many of us. Yet, God the Father desires for us to know that we are indeed deeply loved. The Father shares that love unconditionally and invites us to be embraced by it. We are also called to share that never-ending love with all those we meet. We are reminded of the depth of the Father’s love in John’s Gospel, where we read “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life.”

We, as God’s children, must remember we are involved in the beautiful love story of God’s never-ending love for each of us. This theme, inspired by the deep and personal love of our Father, reminds us that no matter our age—we are sons of Hope and daughters of Faith. We are beloved by Him, and asked simply to Be with Him.

I pray this year that we may come together and recognize ourselves as individuals who are truly beloved children of an infinitely loving God. St. Patrick, pray for us! God Bless You! –Father Redcay
