PRAYERS FOR THE SICK

Raising of Lazarus “I am the resurrection and

the life: whoever believes in me...will never die.”

John 11:26

Did You Know?

Create a Clean Heart in me, O God (Psalm 51) Today we hear of King David’s response to God after he had committed adultery. David was known as a man after God’s heart. But David couldn’t see what he had done any wrong until God sent Nathan the prophet to open his eyes. How often can we not see our own sins? But we need not worry because God always pursues us. He pricks our minds, sends angels and other people to help us. We must remember that God's mercy is unfathomable. When we repent God’s love and mercy will open our hearts just as it did for David. “O God, have mercy on me. Create a clean heart in me and I will share my faith with everyone around.” Excerpts from The Word Among Us (Lent 2018)

This Friday is the final Lenten Meal hosted by The St. Paul Book Club who will treat us to a fun night of assembling “yumm bowls” with our own personalized culinary touch.

We are thrilled to announce that after months of prayer and anticipation we have hired a new Religious Education Director. Gordon Okumu was born in Kenya and came to the US to study Family and Human Services at the University of Oregon. Prior to coming to the United States, Gordon was a Jesuit seminarian in East African province of the Society of Jesus where he worked on humanitarian projects as a research coordinator. We are fortunate to have Gordon at our Parish and look forward to his ministry to continue to grow the faith and love for Jesus Christ in the “young church” of St. Paul.
