LITURGY AND WORSHIP ~ LITURGIA Y CULTO Joyce Lubofsky

[email protected] 281.333.3891 Ext. 333

Celebrating Fr. Jim Bradley’s 45th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ

On May 26, 1973, in the Diocese of Brooklyn, NY, Bishop Francis Mugavero ordained Fr. Jim to the Priesthood. We have been blessed by his ministry the past 2 ½ years since he retired to Texas and want to give thanks to Almighty God for him. Everyone will have the opportunity to sign a book of good wishes this weekend May 20th. So that we might celebrate this wonderful anniversary with him, there will be a Pot Luck Breakfast, 10 AM-12 noon on Saturday, May 26th, in Founders’ Hall. See the Liturgy Page on the Parish website for the link to sign up for the Pot Luck. Father Jim will preside at the 5 PM Mass that same evening.

CORPUS CHRISTI CELEBRATION

Mark your calendars for the annual bilingual Corpus Christi procession on June 3, following the 9 AM Mass! All are invited to join Father Wencil in publicly expressing our belief in Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, through prayer, music and reflection on the Mystery of the Most Holy Eucharist.

First Holy Communicants in their beautiful dresses and suits are especially invited to walk at the head of the procession. Please gather in the Narthex at 9:45 AM if you are not attending the 9 AM Mass. Bring your family, friends, and a joyful heart ready to proclaim to Nassau Bay that God dwells among us and we are His Eucharistic people! Please be advised there will be no street parking available on the morning of the procession. Point Lookout Dr. will be partially closed down as we process around the front of the church. If you and your family would like to participate in a special way in this year's Corpus Christi procession on June 3, by preparing one of the four altars along the procession route, please contact Malina Wojtkowski at 281.221.6591 or Esperanza Monterrubio at 281.957.7328.

Ministry and Continuing Education for Adults Because Our Faith is too Rich to have ever Learned it All…

Contact Heidi Clark, Director of Adult Ministry, 281.333.3891, Ext. 328 or [email protected] for more information.

Adult faith formation at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living

“The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and decision. To enable adults to explore the

faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to come together in a learning environment. As a

diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have

learned along the way.

Women’s ACTS Retreats Women who have attended an ACTS retreat report that they deepened their relationship with God, found community, healed relationships, and learned more about their faith. The next retreat is set for June 28-July 1. Registration forms are at the Welcome Center.

Habitat for Humanity St. Paul has a long history of supporting Habitat for Humanity and its good works by contributing financially to help deserving families’ purchase affordable housing. Our annual collection will take place Father’s Day weekend.

Congratulations to our Adult Confirmandi! We are pleased to congratulate four adults who have completed our parish’s adult confirmation training and will be confirmed by Cardinal DiNardo this weekend or in the near future. Congratulations to Rosa Avalos-Warren, Paula Akin, Mayra Rodriguez, and Omo Ekhaese!

Supper Clubs are Coming! We are pleased to bring a special, new ministry to the parish that is aimed at building community, helping you meet your fellow parishioners, enjoying good food, and having an inexpensive evening of fun! Supper clubs are a great way to accomplish all these things! Our supper clubs will be open to all parishioners whether you are single, married, divorced, or widowed. Participants will get together in groups of four couples and share dinners in each other’s homes. This can be two women, two men, or a man and a woman who are married or unmarried. The dinners will be potluck and the members of the group rotate homes for four dinners (usually once a month). Participants are asked to make a commitment to attend all four dinners in order for the group session to work. When you are hosting the dinner in your home, you provide the main course and beverages. The other members of your group will provide the appetizer, sides, dessert, or whatever you ask. This is not a gourmet cooking club! Start talking about this special, new opportunity among your friends now. We’ll begin sign-ups of interested people later this summer, and we’ll meet for a large, kick-off potluck on Saturday, August 25. We’re also looking for someone to help coordinate the administrative aspects of this new ministry. If this sounds like something up your alley, please let Heidi know at [email protected] or call 281.333.3891, ext. 328. Stay tuned for more info!

Beloved: A Bible Study for Young Adult Women

This six-lesson Bible study lays a strong foundation for your true identity as a daughter of God. We’ll learn practical tools to make God our first priority and will personally meet Jesus in the pages of His Word. The group begins Monday, July 16, and continues weekly through August 20. Meetings will take place from 7 - 8:30 PM in the conference room at St. Paul. Register by contacting Heidi at [email protected]. There is a $25 materials fee to participate.

Baptism Volunteers Needed We are in need of friendly volunteers to help prepare parents who are bringing infants for Baptism. This would involve helping facilitate a Saturday-afternoon session about the sacrament, making the parents feel welcome, and helping facilitate discussion about the topics presented. No previous experience necessary—just a friendly, welcoming person or couple. Contact Heidi at [email protected].
