Prelude

Lighting of the Christ Candle

Gathering Hymn: “Rejoice the Lord is King”

1. Rejoice, the Lord is King; your sovereign Lord adore; give thanks, O

mortals, sing and triumph evermore. Lift up your heart; lift up your voice;

rejoice, again I say, rejoice.

2. For Christ the Saviour reigns, the God of truth and love; when Jesus

purged our stains, He took His seat above. Lift up your heart; lift up your

voice; Rejoice, again I say, Rejoice.

3. His reign can never fail; He rules o’er earth and heaven: the keys of

death and hell are to our Saviour given. Life up your heart; lift up your

voice; Rejoice, again I say, Rejoice.

4. He sits at God’s right hand till all His foes submit and bow to his

command and fall beneath his feet. Lift up your heart; lift up your voice;

Rejoice, again I say, Rejoice.

5. Rejoice in glorious hope, for Christ the judge shall come and take the

faithful up to their eternal home. We soon shall hear the archangel’s

voice; the trump of God shall sound: Rejoice.

Prayer of Approach & The Lord’s Prayer – Rev. Allan Brouwer

Lords’ Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we

forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not in temptation, but

deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory

forever and ever. Amen.

Family Hymn: “Jesus strong and kind”

1. Jesus said that if I thirst, I should come to Him. No one else can

satisfy, I should come to Him.

2. Jesus said if I am weak, I should come to Him. No one else can be my

strength, I should come to Him.

Chorus

For the Lord is good and faithful. He will keep us day and night. We can

always run to Jesus. Jesus, strong and kind.

3. Jesus said that if I fear, I should come to Him. No one else can be my

shield. I should come to Him.

Chorus

4. Jesus said if I am lost, He will come to me. And He showed me on that

cross. He will come to me.

Chorus

For the Lord is good and faithful. He will keep us day and night. We can

always run to Jesus. Jesus, strong and kind.

For the Lord is good and faithful. He will keep us day and night. We can

always run to Jesus. Jesus, strong and kind. Jesus, strong and kind.

Family/Children’s Time: – Rev. Allan Brouwer

Remembrance Prayer

Scripture: Genesis 9: 1-17, 2 Corinthians 1: 20-22 –

Hymn: “My Hope is built on nothing less”

1. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I

dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus

On Christ, the solid rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all

other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace; in

every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil.

Chorus

3. His oath, his covenant, his blood support me in the whelming flood;

when all around my soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay.

Chorus

4. When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be

found, dressed in his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the

throne.

Chorus

Sermon: “Promises of God” – Rev. Allan Brouwer

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Offertory

Closing Hymn: “In Christ Alone”

1. In Christ alone my hope is found; he is my light, my strength,

my song, this cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the

fiercest drought and storm.

What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are

stilled, when strivings cease. My comforter my all in all, here in

the love of Christ I stand.

2. In Christ alone, who took on flesh fullness of God in helpless

babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones

he came to save.

‘Til on the cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.

For every sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I

live.

3. There in the ground his body lay, light of the world by

darkness slain; then, bursting forth in glorious day, up from

the grave He rose again!

And as he stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;

for I am his and he is mine, bought with the precious blood of

Christ.

4. No quilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in

me; from life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my

destiny.

No power of hell, no human plan, can ever pluck me from his

hand; ‘Til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of

Christ I’ll stand!

Benediction – Rev. Allan Brouwer

“O Canada”

1. O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy

sons command. With glowing hearts we see Thee rise, the true

north, strong and free. From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on

guard for thee. God keep our land, glorious and free, O Canada, we

stand on guard for thee. O Canada we stand on guard for thee.

2. Almighty Love, by Thy mysterious power, in wisdom guide, with

faith and freedom dower; be ours a nation evermore that no

oppression blights, where justice rules from shore to shore, from

lakes to northern lights. May love alone for wrong atone; Lord of

the lands, make Canada Thine own! Lord of the lands, make

Canada Thine own.

“Go Now In Peace”

Go now in peace. Never be afraid.

God will go with you each hour of ev’ry day.

Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.

Know He will guide you in all you do.

Go now in love, and show you believe.

Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there watching from above.

Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.

Amen, Amen, Amen.

Words for the weak Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who

promised is faithful. 24

And let us consider how we may spur

one another on toward love and good deeds, 25

not giving up

meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but

encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day

approaching. Hebrews 10: 23-25
