(20) LITURGY OF THE MASS - PART III: THE LITURGY OF THE WORD “When the Sacred Scriptures are read in the Church, God himself speaks to his people, and Christ, present in his word, proclaims the Gospel.” General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM, 29.) THE DISMISSAL OF CATECHUMENS At 10 am and Noon masses, who are the people that come to the front of the church after the homily and then leave? They are the Catechumens. They are in a course of preparation to join us in Baptism and full communion in the Catholic Church. When they leave the church, they go to reflect further on the scripture of the day and other aspects of the how to live as good Catholic Christians. As they prepare to leave, the deacon or priest says: My dear friends, this community sends you now to reflect more deeply on the word of God that you have shared with us today. You can be sure of our affection, support and prayers with you. We look forward to the day when you fully share the table of the Lord. Let us pray for them as they continue on their faith journey. No menosprecia a nadie por ser pobre y escucha las súplicas del oprimido. No desoye los gritos angustiosos del huérfano ni las quejas insistentes de la viuda. Quien sirve a Dios con todo su corazón es oído y su plegaria llega hasta el cielo. La oración del humilde atraviesa las nubes, y mientras él no obtiene lo que pide, permanece sin descanso y no desiste, hasta que el Altísimo lo atiende y el justo juez le hace justicia.

Plan to join other parishioners this Sun-day for breakfast after the 8 & 10am Masses or lunch after the 12 & 1:30pm Masses. Youth/Adolecente: God knows when we are doing things just for show, and when they come from the goodness of our heart. When have you caught yourself doing some-thing just to be more popular or liked? SPV YOUTH MINISTRY Come Join Us! We meet every Sunday evening in the Cafeteria from 6:00 PM -8:00 PM. However, occasionally we have fun off campus. Come and get the schedule on where the fun will be!
