World Book Day Picture Book — ‘There’s A Rang-tan in my bedroom’ Information text on Palm Oil. Text-based English topic — Pupils will read and analyse the text, the will focus on characters and infer their thoughts, feelings and motivations using evidence from the text. They will relate the characters to the lyrics of ‘Man in the Mirror’ and to the wider world. Start Narrative (Fiction) — ‘Room 13’ Text-based English topic — Pupils will read and analyse ‘Room 13’. Science

Continue with forces Revisit forces being a push or a pull. Investigate friction, and the effects of friction. Investigate air resistance and its effect. Investigate water resistance and its effect on an object. Design fair tests identifying and controlling variables. Measure forces using force meters accurately and take the average result. Record results in a bar graph and write the conclusion.

Geography

Continue Mexico Topic Use a range of atlases and maps to find out where Mexico is in the world and compare its position to the U.K. Use graphs to learn about its climate, physical and human features of the country and compare it to the U.K.

Computing

Coding Pupils will use Scratch to make simple computer games. They will write code to enable the characters in computer game to move, return to the start, introduce a second character and write a code using glide. Write the code to develop a scoring system and select music to enhance the game.

Art Drawing Pupils will draw and paint their own artwork based on Day of the Dead skulls inspired by Thaneeya McArdle. Pupils will develop skills of shading.

Spanish Spanish – Language Pupils will learn to talk about places around town and transport.

Music Composition Pupils develop an understanding of musical composition, organising and manipulating ideas within musical structures.

P.E.

Dance Pupils will perform dances using a range of movement patterns. They will work independently and collaboratively. They will evaluate and improve their dance phrases.
