Lord God, Creator of all things, guide our steps and strengthen our hearts during these months of summer and vacation days. Grant us refreshment of mind and body. May we constantly strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our loved ones and in the world around us as we enjoy the warm days of summertime. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. 100 Club Winners: April 30: $50 - Margaret Arens Yates May 7: $50 - Card #1006 Spring Raffle Results: Congratulations on selling 815 books. After expenses, the $4,211.00 raised will help fund classroom needs at St. Rose School. Thanks to everyone who helped sell raffle tickets, to those who purchased raffle tickets, to those who donated prizes, and to our St. Rose School office volunteers for helping with raffle returns. Your support to St. Rose School is appreciated! A list of all the prize winners is attached to this newsletter. High sellers were as follows: 1st place: Ron & Peg Poppe (Ryan & Zac), 2nd place: Tera Tramp (Josie Trebil), and 3rd place: Brandon & Laura Barger (Braelynn & Jaden Tramp). Jump Rope for Heart: Thank you to everyone who participated in The American Heart Association’s, Jump Rope for Heart. Together we raised $863.50. Great Job!! School Supply List/Grades 7 and 8 Physical Forms: Included in your gold take-home family folder this week is the 2017-18 St. Rose School supply list for Grades 1 through 8, a letter from our school nurse, Linda Jackson, R.N., and school sports’ physical forms for those students entering Grades 7 and 8 in the fall. Note: Mrs. Morrison will be mailing out a preschool supply list and other pertinent information to the preschool parents in July. Preschool Openings: St. Rose Preschool has openings for 2-day morning preschoolers in the fall of 2017-18. Please call the school office (402) 388-4393 to register. Farwell: Miss Birtell, current 1st grade teacher, is leaving us at the end of the school year. She will be getting married on May 26 and took a teaching job at Sioux Falls Lutheran. Preschool Graduation: Preschool Graduation will take place on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 PM in

St. Rose Hall for all St. Rose preschoolers. A social will follow graduation ceremonies for preschoolers and guests.

Totus Tuus Summer Youth Program- Totus Tuus (Totally Yours), is a summer catecheti-

cal youth program is being held on the St. Rose Parish campus (Crofton) July 23-28, 2017. The day includes catechetical instruction, daily Mass, songs, games and recess for grades 1-6. Separate program for junior high and high school students. TOTUS TUUS combines catechesis and having FUN!!! The youthfulness and energy of the teachers is contagious; plan to come out and join us!! Cost is $15 per youth or $30 for family. Mark your calendar for this event; registration forms are included in your gold take home envelopes today. Return forms and payment to the St. Rose Church business office (1316 West 5th St., Crofton, NE 68730).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Various volunteers are needed for the Totus Tuus youth program July 23-28, 2017. We

are in need of classroom volunteers, kitchen help, people to bring snacks and families to provide supper for the Totus Tuus team. There will be a Totus Tuus committee planning meeting TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 pm in the rectory house. Committee members are Nancy Steffen, Crystal Steffen, and Holly Wortmann. Please join us if you are interested in becoming a committee member. If you cannot attend this meeting but are willing to help with Totus Tuus, please call the St. Rose church business office at (402) 388-4814.

Open House: Monday, August 14 from 5:30-7:00pm, we will have an open house for our incoming students. Students

may bring their school supplies that night.

St. Rose School Clothing school year 2017-18: (Grades 1 - 8) As in the past St. Rose School T-

shirts and sweatshirts will be available for purchase in August. The school office will send order forms home the first week of school.

Just a reminder: The purchase of school clothing is optional. The school will continue the policy of “Spirit

Day” on Fridays when we ask our students to wear blue or white, our school colors, or their St. Rose School attire. St. Rose School will also be offering royal blue polos (long sleeve and short sleeve) with St. Rose school embroidered on the chest pocket. This item will be listed on the August order form as well. Parents are not obligated to purchase these polos. They are free to purchase solid polos at their local discount and department stores, etc.

St. Rose had some other very special graduates this past weekend. Mrs. Jennifer Fiscus graduated with her degree in Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Certificate of Catholic School Leadership, Mrs. Kristi Steffen graduated with her Master of Education Degree, and Mrs. Ginger Schieffer graduated with a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction Degree. Congratulations to all of you! St. Rose is lucky to

have you!!!
