THEME: JESUS IS THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE AND LORD OF ALL CREATION.Today’s Solemnity of Christ the King lauds Jesus as the King of the Universe and Lord of all creation. Through His death on the cross, rising from the dead and ascension into heaven, He won our salvation and opened the way to eternal life. So in gratitude for all that Jesus has done for us, may we give of ourselves more fully in love and service to others.
LITURGY OF THE WORDThe first reading reminds us that God looks after His flock with tenderness- the lost are brought back, the injured are bound and the sick are healed. The second reading describes the kingship of Jesus as being the one who reigns over all. Today’s Gospel parable exhorts us to care for those who are in need so that we might be judged worthy of eternal life.RETIRED RELIGIOUS APPEAL– Religious give thanks. A religious sister writes, “When we see the generous response of so many thousands of persons in order to help us, religious men and women, we are left speechless.” Senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests across the country send heartfelt thanks and prayers for your donation to last week’s Retirement Fund for Religious.
STEWARDSHIP “…whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers, you did for me” – MATTHEW 25:40 – Most of us are generous when it’s convenient for us. We are generous when we have the time or the money. But, generosity is the opposite of that. It means giving of one’s time, money, compassion, forgiveness or mercy when it’s not convenient; when it’s not on our schedule, but on the other person’s schedule.

We clothe children and visit family members who are sick and imprisoned. The routine actions of family life are religious and priestly, for we make Christ present in what we do. Family life is Beatitude life.

CHRISTMAS KOLACHI SALE – ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON (Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church site) 185 Laird NW, Warren. IT’S TIME TO ORDER our delicious fresh baked kolachi for Christmas. Volunteers will be baking on Wednesday, November 29th and Thursday, November 30th. Orders can be picked up on Friday,
December 1st from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the hall at the St. Cyril’s site. Order your kolachi with nuts, apricot, poppyseed, or prune filling. Price: $9.00 per roll.
