The Body and Blood of Christ - Corpus Christi
Blessed be the door that opened on the Lord’s supper. Blessed be the room that sheltered these friends
in the final hour. Blessed be the innkeeper who made the room ready. Blessed be the bread and the wine
which they shared. Blessed be the ears that heard, the lips that ate and drank, the hearts that struggled to
understand.
Blessed be all who continue to share in this meal of grace. Blessed be the doors of our churches, opening
for two thousand years despite persecution and schism. Blessed be these houses of faith, built at great cost
by people of faith willing to shoulder the burden. Blessed be all those who make this super ready, from
the servants of the liturgy to the priest who speaks for us. Blessed be our Eucharist, our communion of
Body and Blood. Blessed be our ears that hear God’s word, our lips that dare to eat and drink. Blessed be
our hearts that struggle and hope and need and believe.
As requested by Pope Francis, we celebrate the commitment to Marriage:
Marlene and Ken Gerig 50th Wedding Anniversary
May God bless you and deepen your love for each other.
For the feast of Corpus Christi
our formed.org suggestion
is The Eucharist: Source &
Summit of Christian Life. It
looks like bread and wine, yet it is called the Real Presence
of Jesus. It is also called the Eucharist, but many Catholics
would struggle to explain what that word means. What do
Catholics really believe about the Sacrament of the
Eucharist, and why has it become the center point of the
Mass and our lives as Catholics?

Archdiocese Ordinations
The Archdiocese Richard Smith announces the ordination of Deacon JD Carmichael and Deacon Curtis Berube to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Edmonton.
Archbishop Smith will celebrate the Mass of Ordination at 7 pm on Monday, June 29, at St. Joseph Basilica. The Mass will be live-streamed so that we will be able to participate online.
On Friday, June 19, after 9am Mass (Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) we will have a Holy Hour of Adoration for our candidates and for vocations to the priesthood. We encourage you to pray the Nine Day Novena from June 20 - 28, found here: Novena to the Holy Spirit for Vocations
We are pleased to announce that after ordination Curtis Berube will be assigned to St. Thomas More Parish and serve as Associate Pastor to Fr. Mitch.
We may have the opportunity to meet Deacon Curtis in the coming weeks as Fr. Mitch has invited him to stay in the parish, now, in the time before his ordination.
Please keep all our deacons and priests in your prayers!
Lighting of the Outdoor Cross
The lighting of the outdoor cross next to
the mosaic of St. Thomas More at the
entrance of the church has been installed.
We thank our generous donors who made
this project possible and for your patience
in the time it took to bring the work to
completion. May the light of Christ shine
forth as a witness to all in the world of the
love of God for all His creation.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
During these trying times it is important to
remember our brothers and sisters who are in
need. We thank those who have already answered the call
and donated much needed items.
At this time, The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is in need
of donations for the following items: small jars of Cheeze
Whiz, small jars of peanut butter, jam, Chef Boyardee cans,
canned fruit, juice, and granola bars.
Thank you for your generous donations!
The St. Thomas More, Society of St.
Vincent de Paul (SSVP), North of 60°
project has sent a sea container of food
to Fort Good Hope (Kasho Gotine) NWT.
What looked like a difficult, if not impossible task because
of COVID-19, was made possible by your prayers, generous
financial contributions and the support of our Lady of
Guadalupe. A total of 12 different food products in smaller
sizes were purchased for the food bank. The total funds
donated ($4700) were used to purchase four pallets of food,
thermal socks for kids and adults, and the purchase of the
container.
The container was loaded May 26 and will soon be on its
way to Hay River by truck, then barged on the Mackenzie
river to Kasho Gotine.
Thank-You for supporting those in need living in the Artic!
