Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not

pass away. -- Mark 13:31

GETTING THROUGH THE TOUGH TIMES

"It's going to get worse before it gets better" is a phrase that prepares us to buckle up for a rough ride. We know that enduring a difficult time will require some strenuous physical or emotional energy on our part before we expe-rience the calm of normality. Our past experience tells us that we can endure the difficult pressure better when we know how long it will last and if we know that something better awaits us. Getting through the tough times while holding to the promise that awaits us is the message of this weekend's readings. They point toward the promises of God's kingdom that will come after the maelstroms and chaos of this world. Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co.

SVDP AUXILIARY Thank you for responding generously to our October request for soup, meat, jelly and fruit -- it was so helpful to us! At this time, we are thinking ahead to that special time of year when we give thanks for the people in our lives and for gifts received. Preparing and sharing special foods is an important part of our Thanksgiving celebration. Let's prepare to share our bounty with others! The Auxiliary is collecting special foods for our approximately 50 families to be distributed the week before Thanksgiving. Please add these items to your shopping list and bring to church: boxes of stuffing mix, pie crust mix, potato, cans of pumpkin, evaporated milk, cranberries, turkey gravy, noodles and hot or cold cereals. Of course, families need every day staples, so each and every donation is appreciated! You have given, you have sacrificed and we are grateful.-Ladies of St Vincent de Paul Auxiliary

UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF THE BIBLE If you would like to have a deeper relationship with God and a better understanding of your faith, then join us for Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible. You will not only benefit personally from being part of this study; you will also help to bring about a profound renewal in our parish as we grow closer to Christ. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you uncover the story woven through Scripture with its clever narrative approach and ingen-ious color-coded Bible Timeline. It is a great way to get the “big picture” of the Bible and see how our Catholic Faith is rooted in Scripture. You’ll see how the Bible reveals God’s loving plan for your life, and you will learn helpful ways to put your faith into practice. The study includes a series of eight informative and engaging half-hour videos presented by Jeff Cavins. Each video will be followed by a lively group discussion. You can sign up for the study at Evangelization.com. You will receive a color-coded Bible Timeline Chart, a Bible study workbook, and the ability to stream the study vide-os online at your convenience. St. Vincent de Paul will begin Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible on every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month (Thursday afternoons: 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Parish Rectory and Thursday eve-nings from 6:30 p.m. –7:30 p.m.) beginning on Thurs-day, November 19th from 1:00– 2:00 p.m. For more in-formation or to sign up, visit Evangelization.com, or contact Pierre Ferrer at 330-310-6244 or Kerri Schnei-der at 267-234-4898.

What do you get when you combine

Halloween, SVDP

Learners, and love?

8 boxes containing over 200 pounds of candy to send to the Troops!

All of our St. Vincent de Paul Parish School chil-dren were encouraged to bring in extra candy

that they collected during their Trick-or-Treat outings on Halloween. As usual, our learners and

parents were generous! Our 7th grade class spent time sorting and packing up the candy

which will be sent to our United States service men and women all over the globe. St. Vincent de

Paul Parish School is making a difference!
