Staff Newsletter Welcome to the staff team at BrumJam 2016. We are all looking forward to an amazing week and your support is an important part of this. We will be welcoming 1,500 participants to the camp and whatever role you have during the week will be a vital part of making sure the BrumJam 2016 is a huge success. We hope that this newsletter will provide you with a news update and essential information before you get to the camp….. PLEASE DO NOT PARK CARS ON STATION FIELD (GATE 1) ON SATURDAY 30th JULY. See the attached latest site plan. Please remember we need to keep Station Field car park clear for the coaches and participants arrivals. Please work with us on this whilst you arrive at the camp. For members of the Security Team, Support Team, Admin Team, Sub Camps Team and B.A Team that have been requested to arrive early, there will be an arrivals briefing at 8:30am on Saturday 30th July in the Staff marquee. The Support Team will be on hand from Saturday 30th to assist with moving equipment.

BrumJam Staff Entertainment and Activities To show our appreciation for your participation in BrumJam we have put together an Entertainment and Activities programme specifically for the Staff!

Our Staff Entertainment and Activities Leads (SEALs) Heather and Liz will ensure you all get to sample some of the great activities running throughout the week. These will be staff only sessions ensuring you can all take part in the activities in a more relaxed environment.

Some of the activities include a session at Pikes Pool on the We’re a Knockout inflatable challenges, a session on the Blackwell Adventure Adrenaline activities and a session on the onsite activities including the Body Zorbs, Segways and BigAirBag free fall jump.

To keep you entertained throughout the week, the SEALs will be running staff competitions and photo challenges where you can win some great prizes within the staff catering marquee.

For all staff who have paid and are camping with us for the week and to say a final thank you you are invited to a formal meal onThursday evening where you will be welcomed with drinks upon arrival, sit down for a 3 course meal and be entertained throughout the evening including some special guests. Please remember to bring your uniform as we will be asking everyone to wear their uniform for this meal.

As we approach the event, we will open a Facebook Page specifically for staff to keep you updated both prior to and during the event of the fantastic activities and competitions that will be running during the week. You can also share your memories and photos during the week on the Facebook page to make this a memorable event for all involved.

Remember you need to have a valid DBS Certificate which is in date for the duration of the camp. You must have a Scout/Guide appointment

Don’t forget to bring your uniform for the opening ceremony and as much blue clothing as you can for the closing ceremony (we want to be a sea of blue!)

Arrivals – Look for Kate and Dan to book in. (You won’t be able to miss us – look for the hats!)

Please don’t pitch any tents without checking in with Dan and Kate – we have a lot of people to get into the allocated space

If you need/plan to arrive early please let Dan know – most staff should aim to arrive on Saturday please (There isn’t much space free on Friday!)

We all remember to send our kids with items on the kit list..... treat yourself as kids and remember to check your kit lists! TEA TOWELS, CUTLERY,

Communications at BrumJamAndy our resident news reporter will be putting together the daily newsletter helped by Dave and Eileen our photographers and Krissie taking video footage. We will also be printing and selling photos taken during the day. We will also have our very own @brumjamradio broadcasting live throughout the day so bring a radio with you to keep you company during the day.

PLATES, CUP – without these you might go hungry (and trust me there will be alot of food you’ll struggle with without having a plate and fork!) SUNCREAM (yes it’s going to be hot and sunny)

Washing up facilities provided – TEA TOWELS are not please bring a supply with you!

Car Parking is on the Park – please do not try and get access via other entrances –please go to Gate 3 during arrivals

Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Juice, Squash and water provided all day every day – morning til night. Food provided during meal sittings

If you are dropping your children off at Creche, please ensure you have checked in with a member of the Creche team before leaving the group room. If you are a day visitor, please make sure you send food with your child!!

Just a few reminders…. PaymentsBy the time you get this newsletter your final payment will have been due – please pay promptly as this really does help the admin team.

BrumJam MerchandiseRemember to place your order for any of the branded items by the 15th June so it can be ready for you to pick up when you get to the camp.

Staff Saturday night BBQ buffet Party.As a well earned Thank You and close to the camp we would like to invite you all to stay on Saturday evening, as we will be hosting a Staff BBQ/Buffet, with drinks from 7.00pm. All staff are very welcome to attend and join in the fun!
