Overview
In July 2020, the Shawnee Mission School District requested feedback from all staff regarding their readiness to return to work amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic. The survey was delivered through SurveyMonkey. Staff responses are anonymous, so there is no further opportunity to connect staff responses with any other data set outside of what was asked in this survey.
The survey was open from July 11, 2020 through July 15, 2020. Among the 3,514 invitations sent, there were 2,730 responses which translates to a 78% response rate.
1,974 respondents identified themselves as a certified employee. Certified staff includes teachers, administrators, counselors, and psychologists. 777 respondents identified themselves as classified. Classified staff includes secretaries, custodial and maintenance workers, and paraprofessionals. The response rate for certified staff was approximately 87%, and the response rate for classified staff was approximately 59%. By relative comparison, typical response rates for research and employee feedback surveys range from 25% to 60%.
