SETTING SCENES ON STAGE AND AUDITORIUM

Different colors, brightness or darknesshave an effect on our well-being. Theyconvey feelings such as joy, deep emotion,lightness or freedom.

Performances in classic cultural areas suchas theater, opera and ballet and, to anincreasing extent, shows and events inhotels and other event facilities are influ-enced decisively by the technical lightaccents as well as the stage adaptationand stage settings. Light supports andaccentuates the performance.

Optimum use of lights and spots in combi-nation with professional light controlsystems allow finely matched light scenesas well as light effects which underscorethe dynamics of the performance.

Sensitive light choreography supportsadvanced lighting technology, captivatesthe attention of the audience and heigh-tens the intensity of the performance. Themeasuring rod for successful light design isnot the number of lights but rather themanner in which they are used and howthe illumination sequence is organized.

Various color layouts (colored light, diffe-rent light tones), differentiated dimmingpositions and correct positioning of thelights in the room are important constitu-ents of successful light planning. The useof lights with different optical effects (withmore or less sharp contours, closely bund-led, scalable or dispersed, with hard coreor focused light) are absolutely necessaryto handle the many different technicallighting requirements.

ALTENBURGER ELECTRONIC offers a com-plete range for light control with the THY-RODYN product line for stages with up to48 light circuits with integrated auditori-um light controls.

THE THYRODYN CONCEPT

Control of stage and auditorium lighting isaccomplished using a closed control con-cept which also includes color changes,curtains, switching operations and otherfunctional sequences. The easy-to-use,programmable stage lighting controls withDMX 512 interface can be combined withthe customer's auxiliary control compo-nents in a variety of forms whereby con-ventional controls, European InstallationBus (EIB) Systems or touch panels can beintegrated.

PROGRAMMABLE LIGHT CONTROLS THYRODYN PL 12 / PL 24

The PL 12 and PL 24 programmable controls offer entry into theprofessional sector in terms of handling and function.Nevertheless, the features are simple and logical. In comparison toconventionally designed controls, they offer significantly more

features. Control and output stages are spatially separated so thatthe output module with uniform design can control spotlights withpower ratings of up to 8 kW/circuit with phase control or up to2 kW/circuit with phase cutoff.

The PL 12 and PL 24 programmable controls offer the following features:

• The basic features with familiar operating functions include 2 preset registers, lightening keys for each circuit as well as fader/mixersare available immediately after switching on the unit.

• Capability of setting 12 or 24 mood registers on 4 pages (all totaled 48 or 96). The stored moods can be called up, modified and copied at any time.

• Moods can be selected with the lower circuit controls.

• A number of light moods can be mixed even when stored on different pages.

• Individual circuit values and moods can be transferred to the sequence memory.

• The sequence of the light moods can be assigned specific times.

• The sequence can be called with the GO key.

• It is possible to fade from any mood to another during the sequence (manual selection).

• Seven memory registers are available for programming running lights. Every step in the running light can correspond to the setting of one single circuit or a number of circuits or even entire moods.

• The speed of the running light can be controlled by an internal clock frequency generator, the speed can be varied.

• The PL 12 and PL 24 stage light controls are equipped with a DMX 512 output and a MICROPLEX output as standard features.

• Operation of all types of connections is possible simultaneously.

• For the DMX mode, the start address for the equipment to be controlled can be between 1 and 96 for the PL 12 and 24 control panel.

Thyrodyn: PL 1624 / PL 1636 / PL 1648

This family of programmable control panels is intended for profes-sional use. They are suitable for control of 24, 36 or 48 circuits andcan be expanded to 48, 72 or 96 circuits using crossbars. All func-tions for storage, running light or sequences are possible simplyand clearly with a minimum of keys.

Here as well, control stages and output stages are spatially separa-ted from one another completely so that the output module withuniform design can control spotlights with power ratings ofup to 8 kW with the phase control mode or up to 2 kW with the phase-interval control mode (for low-voltagehalogen lamps with electronic transformers).

The PL 1624, PL 1636 and PL 1648 offer the following features:
