It also can change what programStarcraft runs when you click on Campaign Editor inStarcraft, the name Staredit saves the chk file asin the scm or scx, edits filenames StarCraft orStarEdit use from the mpq, and can attach an mpqarchive to an exe file.To make mpq files (If you don't have Staredit.exe fromversion 1.04, download it from my page)(1) Open Staredit.exe in StarExeHack, change the name Staredit saves the chk file as, and click save from the file menu. (You may want to make a backup of Staredit.exe)(2) Open StarDraft, run the patch loader, and double-click on the Staredit icon. (You don't need to use any patches)(3) Click on Sounds... from the Scenario menu in Staredit.(4) In the patch loader, click on the Staredit Enhancer button and click on the Enable button.(5) Type the directory you want to import a file to in the scm and click Apply.(6) Import the files you want to be in the directory the same way you would import a sound.(7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all the files you want to import.(8) Save the scm.(9) Change the file extension from scm to mpqTo use the mpq in Starcraft or Staredit, change 'FirstMPQ Searched' to the name of the mpq file. The entrymust start with a "\".To use a version of Starcraft other than Brood War 1.04or 1.05:(1) Click 'Add EXE Data...' from the 'File' menu.(2) Open an unmodified exe from the version you want to use.(3) Select the type of exe from the 'Exe Type' box.(4) Type in the version number in the 'Version' box.(5) Click 'Add'The version data has been added to 'ExeData.tbl'.The exe can now be edited in StarExeHack.By removing the mpq archive from an exe file or other fileand replacing it with another mpq archive, you can do someinteresting things. For example, you could remove the mpqarchive from one of the StarCraft patcher programs andreplace it with your own mpq archive that has your ownversions of the files.
