* Sew strips together via short ends WOF = Width of Fabric

press to make (2) BD half triangle squares.

5. Repeat step 4. to make the following half triangle square combinations: BD – twice AD – once CF – twice AF – once CG – twice AG – once AH – twice

6. Place (2) BD half triangle squares right sides togeth-er, seams together and opposite colors together. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) BD half triangle square, opposite the seam. Sew 1/4” on each side of the diagonal line. Cut on diagonal line, open and press to make (2) BD Quad Triangle Squares. Square to 7 1/8”.

7. Repeat step 6. to make the following quad triangle square combinations: BD – BD – once BD – AD – twice CF – CF – once CF – AF – once CG – CG – once CG – AG – once AH – AH – twice

BLOCK ASSEMBLY: SNOWBALL BLOCK1. Starting in the top le� corner of (1)A 20-1/2" square, place (1) E 7-1/2” squarein the corner, right sides togetherand matching raw edges. Draw a line diagonally across E square. Sew seamon the line. Trim ¼" from seam, discardexcess corner and press seam.

2. Repeat step 1 for each corner of block.

3. Make (4) A/E Snowball Blocks.

QUAD-TRIANGLE SQUARE4. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) B 7-7/8" square. Layer B square and (1) D 7-7/8" square right sides together, sew 1/4” on each side of the diagonal line. Cut on diagonal line open and

Star Block 5: Repeat Star Block 1

QUILT ASSEMBLY:9. Layout blocks in rows as shown in quilt diagram. Pay close attention to turning of blocks. "A" triangle in quad squares should be next to "A" print of Snowball blocks. Sew blocks together in each row. Sew rows together to make quilt center.

BORDER ASSEMBLY:10. Sew (3) H 1 ½" x WOF strips together at short ends. Sew to the le� side of quilt center and trim. Sew remaining strip to right side of quilt center. Press and trim both bor-ders even with top and bottom of quilt.

11. Repeat process from steps 10. and sew to top and bottom of quilt center. Trim even with sides and press.

FINISHING Cut batting and backing 3" larger than top on all sides. Layer backing, batting and top and baste or pin. When quilting is completed, trim excess batting and backing. Bind as usual.
