Starbus Ultra is designed using the proven and reliable Tata 497 engine / new

3L engine (BS III & BS IV), along with aviscous fan(used for the first time in thi s class

of buses). The optimal power of the engine results in considerably higher fuel

efficiencyand the lowest NVH among buses in its class. Moreover, the better torque

characteristics ensure better pulling on higher gears, resulting in best-in-class 28.6%

gradeabilityand lower fuel consumption.

The gearbox in Starbus Ultra is G-550, a 6-speed gearboxwith overdrive

and cable shift mechanism. This ensures higher mileage, more speed selection

options and higher maximum speed. And being made of steel double cone synchro

gives it 30% more life. Above all, the gear lever which is mounted on the dashboard,

offers car-like gear shifting that requires less driver effort and causes less fatigue.

The manufacturing process that goes into making Starbus Ultra is one of the

most advanced of its kind. Reflecting constant efforts at excellence,this

one-of-a-kind bus is the product of a fully automated manufacturing and

assembly plant, located at Dharwad, Karnataka. The structural components

of the bus are designed at the state-of-the-art computer-aided Design Lab.Moreover, only top quality materials, sourced from approved suppl iers, are

used. And finally, the bus body is made from high grade, high strength steel,

giving it the robustness needed for frequent journeys.

Starbus Ultra incorporates quality of the highest standards,
