STARGAZING & LECTURE SERIES http://outreach.astro.caltech.edu These are free lectures at a public level followed by guided stargazing with telescopes (weather permitting). All lectures are now held at the Baxter Lecture Hall at Caltech. No reservations are needed. Lectures are 30 minutes, stargazing lasts 90 minutes. Stay only as long as you want. For directions, weather updates, and more information, please visit: Astro ALMA, the Atacama Large Millimeter telescope Array, has just come into operation in Chile. This array of 66 linked high-frequency radio telescopes is the most technically challenging telescope ever built, now providing views of the skies never before seen and at higher resolution than even the Hubble Space Telescope. I will give a travelog to the ALMA site high in the Andes Mountains and discuss some of the exciting science discoveries it has already made.
