Start your holidays at the Vista’s 36th annual street party and tree lighting!

When?Thursday, November 18 from 6-10 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, shop local businesses, help us light the tree and enjoy all the businesses have to offer. The Free Kid’s Zone presented by 94.3 The Dude will once again take over Lincoln Street with activities for children, balloon art, reindeer snacks, visits with Santa and more.

Where?The whole Vista community will be part of the festivities. Vista Lights will begin at 6pm. Park and Lincoln Streets will be closed to traffic from 5-10 p.m. Gervais Street will be closed to traffic from Gadsden to Assembly Streets at 6 p.m. Galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs will stay open late, showcasing their holiday best. See centerfold map for participating businesses.

The Vista Guild asks that you please follow COVID-19 protocols while at Vista Lights. Please avoid physical contact with others including handshakes, fist bumps and high-fives. Additionally, please practice social distancing while at Vista Lights and please properly wear a face when social distancing isn’t possible.

ParkingFREE parking is available in the City of Columbia garage at Lincoln and Washington Streets (behind Aloft Hotel), and at the South Carolina State Museum. The Vista Guild is offering free rides from the museum’s lot to Gervais and Gadsden on a continuous loop from 6-10 p.m….masks are required. The City of Columbia parking garage on Park Street (beside the Hilton Hotel) is $10 cash only due to an event at Colonial Life Arena. Street parking is available and meters are free after 6 p.m.

EntertainmentMake sure to visit the stage near the corner of Lincoln and Gervais Streets. At 6:15pm there will be live performances from:

Following the performances, join us for carols just before the traditional tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Join City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and other City of Columbia dignitaries as we light the tree outside River Runner Outdoor Center.

Following the tree lighting, Prettier than Matt will play on stage from 7:15-8:15 p.m., followed by the Soda City Brass Band from 8:30-9:45 p.m.

KICK START YOUR HOLIDAY SEASON AT THE 36TH ANNUAL VISTA LIGHTS!

Let’s see how you light up the Vista! Share your photos while at the event with #VistaLights.

The Vista Guild will offer wristbands to Vista Lights attendees who are 21 and older to purchase beer and wine, which will be for sale on Lincoln Street at the corner of Gervais from 6:00-9:30 p.m. Cashless payments are encouraged.

Stop by and shop local artists and craftspeople in City Market who will have arts and crafts for sale.

Experience Columbia SC Visitor Center 1101 LINCOLN ST.

Check out the visitor’s center, and stroll through the gift shop. Enjoy a holiday cookie and the photo booth.

Get the red carpet treatment at Eye on Gervais’ trunk show with discounts on glasses and snacks.
