The Earths Crust

Continental Crust is the material which makes up all the

world’s land masses. It is old, light and

permanent. It varies in depths up to 70km

thick under mountains.

Oceanic Crust is the heavy material found

under the earths oceans and seas. It is

younger as the material is constantly being destroyed and recreated.It varies in depths of 5 to 9km.

Made of 2 types of solid rock

Thickness: 2,900km. Temperature between 1300oC & 5000oC. molten rock is very gooey like treacle
