Whether in large-scale industry, on major construction sites,

mechanical and chemical infl uences to which surfaces are

For more than twenty years, wefa has been a certifi ed partner

of Deutsche Bahn and an authorised supplier of the European

railway industry. Besides aesthetic requirements such as

perfect gloss and colour stability, the coatings used also have

to satisfy functional demands and protect the substrate from

mechanical and chemical infl uences. Corrosion protection and

easy cleaning, especially removing graffi ti, are the focus here.

They have to be just as easy to integrate into production

processes, must guarantee excellent workmanship, dry quickly

and be storable without any adverse eff ect on quality. Our

The requirements of ren-owned manufacturers such as Bombardier, Siemens, Stadler or Alstom are not only wide-ranging, but also very high.

Everyday life in a kitchen involves chopping, cook-ing, wiping and cleaning, both chemical and me-chanical, all of which wefa coatings can withstand.

Worktops in modern kitchens have to withstand heat, fat splashes, fruit

acids, coffee, tea and red wine stains, as well as bacterial residues.

Even if you clean your work surfaces daily using aggressive chemicals and/or

abrasive cleaning agents, they can still look perfect after many years. wefa

coating systems for the kitchen furniture industry are extremely resistant

and completely free of solvents. They naturally meet the strictest food

safety standards, are odourless and easy to clean with just warm water and

washing-up liquid.

Coatings on military vehicles and mobile equipment have to meet an

extremely long list of requirements. Precisely defi ned IR measurement values

also have to be complied with for the F9 category (three-colour camoufl age

painting used by the German Army).

All traditional product features, such as perfect adhesion or lasting corrosion

protection, naturally also have to be guaranteed here. The coating systems

used also have to be able to reliably resist attacks with chemical weapons, as

well as chemical cleaning agents for decontamination. wefa coating systems

Complex tests and meticulous analyses such as salt spray tests or graffi ti

removal are all part of day-to-day business. This not only requires profound

knowledge of chemistry and materials science, but above all a great deal of

experience and a high level of precision, and often creativity when it comes

to reproducing “exotic” practical situations or constructing unusual testing

installations in order to meet customers wishes. To date, there has hardly

been a single hurdle which our specialists have not been able to overcome,

wefa’s environmental management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 is anchored in its

corporate policy any goes far beyond just compliance with statutory regulations. It regulates

the responsible handling of hazardous substances and wide-ranging requirements relating to

health protection, noise control, air pollution control, environmental protection etc.

Our Environmental Management Offi cer would be happy to provide you more detailed

information on wefa’s environment policy.

At wefa environmental protection is a top priority. As early as the 1980s,

we fi rmly placed our focus on ecological 2-comp. coating systems which

are thinned with tap water and essentially produced without solvents.

Today, wefa coating systems are so harmless to health and friendly to the

environment that we ourselves for the most part only use water to clean

mixing tanks. Some of our coatings are even exempt from special label-

ling in accordance with the German Hazardous Substances Ordinance. All

information regarding content and composition naturally complies fully with

REACH requirements.

Global climate change has further strengthened our resolve to implement

environmentally friendly processes. This is also why we have had our company

certifi ed in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 This ensures that we meet our

responsibility to customers, employees and society in the best possible way and

actively protect nature.
