Admission to the program• Initial admission as undergraduate status – students take both

undergraduate and graduate courses during the first year at Buffalo State• Full admission to Master’s program upon award of Bachelor’s degree –

end of first year at Buffalo State• Base admission requirements:

– Grade point average of 3.0 on 5.0 scale– English language proficiency – one of these:

• TOEFL 79 (internet examination)• IELTS band score of 6.0• CET-6 score of 450• Personal interview (Skype)

• Other specific admission requirements dependent on program – specific coursework completion

Example: admissions requirement for Biology M.A. 3+2 program

For admission to the 3+2 M.A. Biology program, students must have completed or demonstrated the following:

• At least 48 credit hours of science and mathematics courses, including a minimum of 18 credit hours in biology.

• Additional coursework leading to a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, such as chemistry, biology, geography, geology, earth science, environmental science, or in mathematics

Example: Admissions requirements for Applied Economics M.A. 3+2 program

Applicants must have completed courses equivalent to:• Principles of Macroeconomics• Principles of Microeconomics• Beginning Statistics• Calculus for Social Sciences• Intermediate Macroeconomics or Intermediate

Microeconomics• Accounting I • Econometrics • Calculus II
