Goal: One common design for XFEL, FLASH and PITZ – NO VACUUM WORK AFTER CONDITIONING

Major challenge at the moment: RF-window design Preferred solution is new

development MHF-p and Thales

Several mounting options under discussion, only one possibility shown

Full power through 1 window No SF6 but small overpressure

of air Requires more complicated

wave-guide distribution (4 wave-guide arms, 4 circulators, combination as close as possible to the window)

Two RF-windows with at the moment no guarantee of proper functionality

Wave-guides under SF6

Interlock sensors (esp. pick-up at wrong positions)-> redesign of T-combiner necessary

One prototype in operation No particle free cleaning up to now, even

limited space for nuts and tools -> complicated mounting

From the point of view of particle creation the uncoated copper-beryllium spring is best and the currently used Ag coated worst. Next step would be test in RF-gun: PITZ??
