850 ㎒ bands like Band 5 (824-849 ㎒ for UL, 869-894 ㎒ for DL) is used for mobile communication service in many countries. (about 70% of the world’s population)

Many bands around 800-900 ㎒ (Band 5, 6, 8 and 18)Number of available bands in UE is limited. Need for consideration: (1) reduce the economy-of-scale, (2) much more opportunities and flexibility in service offering, (3) Easier to expand network

With regard to E850, there are two WI in 3GPPWI on Upper E850 (814-849 for UL, 859-894 ㎒ for DL) was approved at TSG RAN #50 (Dec. 2010).

It is expected that this WI will be approved at TSG RAN #52 (Jun. 2011)Upper E850 was assigned as Band 26.

WI on Lower E850 (806-824 for UL, 851-869 ㎒ for DL) was approved at TSG RAN #51 (Mar. 2011).

It is expected that this WI will be approved at TSG RAN #54 or #55.Lower E850 will be assigned as [Band 27].

At the The 10th Meeting of APT Wireless Group held at Bangkok, Thailand(22-25 March 2011), Ericsson Vietnam submitted AWG-10/INP-48

The purpose of this contribution is to provide some information on the current work in 3GPP related to the possibilities for harmonized frequency arrangements in the bands 806–824 ㎒ (UL) paired with 851–869 ㎒ (DL) as well as extending the band 850 ㎒ spectrum range by 2 x 10 ㎒ by the inclusion of the blocks 814–824 ㎒ (UL) paired with 851–861 ㎒ (DL), within the range 806–894 ㎒ .

The intention is that this information could stimulate discussion in AWG that would be leading to appropriate consideration and actions that is suitable for the situation in APAC.

☞ This issue might be raised by some members at the next AWG Meeting again. Before the next AWG meeting, TTA would like to hear ARIB and CCSA’s view on this issue.
