Locate the steam generator horizontally on theiron rest plate of your ironing board (if largeenough) or on a heat resistant stand at the sameheight as your ironing board or below it. Alwaysensure the steam generator is on a firm surfacewhen ironing.

WARNING: Do not use the product on asurface which could be damaged by heat orsteam such as a worktop or a polished woodsurface.

If in doubt, contact Morphy Richards.

Remove any protective cover from the soleplate(8) and the base unit (18), if any.

Unwind and straighten the power (16) and steamsupply cords (5).

The first time you use the iron or insert a newcartridge, hold the trigger for a minute to pull thesteam through to the soleplate.

Textiles and clothes carry ironing instructions. Ifnot, follow the temperature guide above, but testthe temperature by ironing the hem of thegarment or other discreet area first.

It is advised to begin with ‘cool’ fabrics (seeabove) and work up to higher settings. An ironheats up quicker than it cools down so you’ll savetime and electricity.

If you turn the temperature level down from a hotsetting to a cooler setting, wait until thetemperature setting indicator (23) stops flashing(indicating the correct temperature has beenreached) before you continue ironing.

You can carry the appliance by the iron handle (3)once the iron (7) is locked to the base unit (18)using the iron-to-base lock (12) (see ‘Storing thesteam iron’ on page 11).

Using the Steam Generator for steam ironing (continued)

The steam function is ideal for relaxing the fibresof tougher fabrics (like jeans and linen) andgetting rid of those stubborn, hard to reachcreases.

To produce powerful steam during ironing, simply press and hold the steam trigger (6).

Unless you are using the IntelliTemp setting, theappropriate steam level indicator will flash whilstthe steam trigger is pressed, indicating thatsteam is being produced.

NOTE: steam cannot be produced on the 1-Dotsetting - this is highlighted by the no steamindicator (22) being visible on the control panel(1) whilst the 1-Dot setting is selected.

Unlock the iron (7) from its storage position on topof the base unit (18) by rotating the iron-to-baselock (12) - this enables you to lift the iron heel (9)away from the iron rear docking hook (15).

During use, the iron may be rested on the iron restplate (13) with the iron-to-base lock rotated so theflat side is upper-most (in the unlocked position).

IN HARD WATER AREAS, WE RECOMMENDA MIX OF 50% TAP WATER AND 50%DISTILLED OR DEMINERALISED WATER.

Never use battery topping up fluid or watercontaining any substances like starch, sugar, fragrant additives or defrosted water from arefrigerator.

Re-filling during useIf the water level is too low, the unit will notproduce steam. If this happens, disconnect thewater tank (11) and refill with water.

Dry ironingTo use your steam generator as a dry iron only, follow steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 of ‘Using the SteamGenerator for steam ironing’ on page 7 and 8.You do not need to put water in the water tank(11).

Auto shut-offIf the iron (7) is not moved or the steam trigger (6)goes unused for 10 minutes, the product willautomatically turn off for safety and to saveenergy. When this happens, the auto shut-offindicator (25) will flash.

To restart, either move the iron or press thesteam trigger (6) (see step 6 of ‘Using the SteamGenerator for steam ironing’ on page 7) and waitfor the temperature to rise again.

Steam functionDuring steaming, small amounts of water may beejected from the soleplate (8). This is normal andcan be avoided by using the steam for shortamounts of time and only when the iron is at thecorrect temperature (the temperature settingindicator (23) on the control panel stops flashingwhen ready).

Sudden jolts to the boiler unit can also causewater droplets on the soleplate; therefore, do notmove the base unit (18) during ironing.

We recommend for first time ironing that youiron over an old towel.

NOTE: The product may occasionally produce apumping sound during steam ironing. This isnormal and is caused by water being pumpedthrough the steam generator. If the pumpingsound suddenly becomes louder or the steamdiminishes, check and refill the water tank if ithas become empty.

Vertical steamVertical steam is useful for removing creasesfrom hanging clothes, curtains, upholstery, etc.Hold the iron (7) between 1cm and 2cm awayfrom the item and press the steam trigger (6).
