One major goal of CAA is to facilitate the publication of museum objects,• if possible, in their entirety, or at least whole groups,• in a satisfactory, complete description,• with sufficient photographic illustration, and, • if needful, also with graphic illustration.

Publication of a group of objects in a collection should not be hampered by difficulties with single objects: the loose leaf form allows to publish defective groups, with the option of filling the gap at any later time.

The claim for completeness of description is supported by a standardized questionaire.
