    Stena Aluminium is the leading produc-er o recycled aluminium in the Nordicregion. Our miss Our mission is to pro-duce and market customized alumini-um alloys or oundries and deoxidiza-tion or steel mills. Our enterprise todayis conducted at two plants, lmhult inSweden and Kolding in Denmark. Thelicensed volumes or both plants com-bined comprise at present 90,000 tons

    per year. Stena Aluminium has an an-nual turnover exceeding SEK 1.7 billionwith around 140 employees.

    Stena Aluminium is a part o the Ste-na Metall Group, which has operationsin more than 250 locations and in 13countries. This means that we are ableto guarantee access to raw materialsand, no less importantly, dependabledeliveries, even or very large quantities.

    Customized alloysentirely according to

    customer needs.

    In this brochure, we present the Europeanstandards or aluminium alloys or oundrypurposes. At Stena Aluminium, nearly allalloys are produced in order to ulfl cus-tomer-specifc requirements.

    Our customers mainly come romthe automotive, electronics, machineshop and urniture industries. Atpresent, we have over 450 dierentTypes o customer-adapted aluminium

    alloys with varying requirements orelectrical conductivity, thermal con-ductivity, corrosion , resistance, strength,fnishing quality, exural strength, ten-sile yield limit, cutting property, weld-ability, etc.Consistently high qualityMaintaining consistently high qualityand delivering within tolerance limitshas become our speciality. Through

    the use o large smelters in our smelt-ing process, we are also able to guar-antee consistency and high quality orlarge-volume deliveries. Our largeurnaces take up to 30 tons and guar-antee consistent analysis, even inlarge quantities. However, our com-prehensive quality controls during theprocess, rom the receiving o the rawmaterials to fnal inspection upon de-

    livery, are an even more importantguarantee.

    Our customers must always eelconfdent that we are delivering thehighest possible quality, so they in turncan deliver the same high quality totheir customers.

    Ingots or liquidWe were the frst in the Nordic regionto deliver liquid aluminium to indus-

    trial customers, in large thermosesthat contain up to eight tons per con-tainer. The smelted aluminium is trans-ported in liquid orm and is able to beused in the customers productionprocess immediately on arrival. Thealuminium will have a temperaturethat has been adjusted to the needs othe customers own process.

    We will o course also continue to

    cast aluminium ingots in the uture.

    Product descriptionDescriptions and pictures ollow below o our products. All o our products can be delive-red in the orm o ingots o r drops. The casting alloys can also be delivered in liquid orm,which is the most cost-eective orm o deliver y or our customers. Normally, aluminiumalloys or casting are delivered as ingots and deoxidization aluminium as drops. The ing-ots are stacked in lots, where t wo lots are bundled together or more e fcient handlings.Drops are delivered in loose orm on loading platorms or in big bags. All dimensions andweights are nominal, deviations may occur.

    Deoxidization aluminium.Stena Aluminium also produces aluminium or deoxidization purposes. These products arealso produced on the basis o customer-specifc requirements, where the composition is pre-dominantly based upon the aluminium content, or example 96% aluminium. These productsare primarily delivered in big bags or on loading platorms.

    Stenal460 (light pressure).A development o the most common pressure die casting alloy, AlSi9Cu3Fe, but with in-creased strength properties, produced by Stena Aluminium together with customers andother interested parties. Low iron content, o manganese valances and refned with stron-tium. Excellent high strength properties, good atigue properties and good ductility. Thealloy is a good alternative to primary aluminium alloys. Can be heat-treated.

    Liquid aluminium deliveries.

    Stena Aluminium is the frst producerin the Nordic region to be able to de-liver aluminium in liquid orm, thus ur-ther helping our customers to increasetheir success and competitive strength.The concept o liquid aluminium deliv-eries involves large environmental andcost-related benefts. The liquid alu-minium is delivered in large thermosesthat maintain the heat during trans-

    port rom the smelter to the custom-er.

    During transport, heat loss is approx.5-9 degrees per hour, however, by leav-ing our smelter at a pre-adjusted tem-perature, the temperature upon arrivalcan be at the level the customer re-quires or his process.

    The thermoses contain approx. eighttons and in Sweden we can deliver upto three thermoses at a time. By deliv-ering a ull load o liquid aluminium, wesave approx. 2 tons o greenhouse gasemissions, in comparison with deliver-

    ing ingots. This is and will be an increas-ingly important competitive advantageThere are both direct and long-termsavings or the customer in using liquidaluminium deliveries instead o ingots,a number o which are mentioned be-low.

    When delivery o liquid aluminium istaken in a thermos, the customer canuse it in production directly throughthe tip station that the thermos is setup in. In this way, it is even possible toreplace prior on-site urnaces with thethermos.

    Heating equipment can be connect-ed up to the tip station to ensure thatthe temperature is kept at the right

    level according to the needs o thecasting process. It is even possible toconnect up magnetic stirring, whichensures that the metal circulates con-tinuously, thereby increasing the ho-mogeneity and consistency o themetal in the heat.
