    1 PREPARE YOUR INTERNET BROWSER FOR E-LEARNING1. 1 TURN OFF POP-UP BLOCKER Open your INTERNET EXPLORER. On the text menu select TOOLS. Select POP-UP BLOCKER. IF the top option is Turn On Pop-up Blocker (this means that the pop-up blocker is already off)

    THEN leave as is,

    OTHERWISEselect Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

    1. 2 RESET YOUR BROWSERS SECURITY SETTINGS Open your INTERNET EXPLORER.

    On the text menu select TOOLS.

    Select INTERNET OPTIONS

    Select the SECURITY tab.

    Scroll down to the bottom of the security options window and click on the [Reset all zones to default level]button,

    IF this button is grayed out THEN your browser is already set to default security settings.

    Click [Apply]2 ACCESS MICROSOFT E-LEARNING CATALOG2. 1 LOGIN TO MICROSOFT E -LEARNING Go to:https://business.microsoftelearning.com/

    (Add this WEB PAGE to your Internet Favorites)

    Click [Sign In]

    Enter your Windows Live ID email address. Enter your password. Select radio button next to Save my e-mail address.

    Click [Sign In].

    2. 2 SEARCH FOR E-LEARNING COURSES IN THE E-LEARNING CATALOG Select Learning Catalog on the left hand menu.

    Microsoft e-learning is currently available in the languages on the right (more planned).We cannot guarantee that every e-learning course which is available in English will also

    be available in all the other languages. In the Learning Catalog page select the Language you would prefer to study in. Allow the website a little time to filter all the courses in the Language you selected.

    Select the Technology of the courses you would like to study. (e.g. Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, etc.)

    Select checkbox(es) and scroll to the bottom of the page and click [Add to My Learning] to add product(s) toyour My Learning page.

    3 ACCESS YOUR E-LEARNING COURSE3. 1 ACCESS YOUR E-LEARNING COURSE IN THE MY LEARNING PAGE To access your e-learning courses you have added to your learning click on the My Learning link on the left

    hand menu.

    Under the My Learning page you will see all the e-learning courses that you have added to your learning. Thispage also shows you how far you have progressed with each Microsoft e-learning course.

    3. 2 LAUNCH AN E-LEARNING COURSE You may click on the Product Name (course title) or the [Launch] button to start the course.

    Allow the viewer to load the e-learning course.

    4. 2 LAB INFORMATION AND FILES Click Lab Information link.

    Read the Lab information page. Click on the practice files hyperlink: Click to download the practice files required to complete the local labs A File Download window will display. Click on [Save] Select My Documents

    Click on [Save]

    On the Download complete window, click [Open]

    On the toolbar, click [Extract]

    Select My Documents

    Click [Extract]

    The files will be extracted to a folder for the course in the My Documents folder (directory) E.g. C:\Documents and Settings\suddes_l\My Documents\5425ae The extracted practice files will be organized in the following folder structure:

    \My Documents\\ Close the file extraction software by clicking the [X] button at the top right of the window.

    4.2.1 HOW TO ACCESS THE PRACTICE FILES FOR LAB SDuring the e-learning course you will come across the part where you will need to complete a Lab. This is a practice

    section of the e-learning.

    If you are in ICON view the Labs are depicted by science apparatus

    If you are in TEXT view the Labs are depicted by the word Lab: before the topic name.

    The next step will be to view the lab instructions, click on the hyperlink.o E.g.

    You will be instructed to open the practice file for the specific lab.o E.g.

    The name of the folder (directory) where your lab filesare is as per the download instructions above.o E.g. \My Documents\\

    4. 3 COURSE INFORMATION Within the e-learning course select the Course Information link.

    On the Course Information page, read the Course Overview.

    Below the Course Overview you will see a table with clickable headings. (e.g. Prerequisites, Audiencedescription, and Course objective).

    Clicking on each of these headings will display the information within each heading on the right underDescription.

    5 START LEARNING5. 1 MODULE INFORMATION Click on the module title within the launched e-learning.

    The module topics will expand and the module information will be displayed on the right. Read the Module Information and the Module Objectives. Click on the Play button of the Module tip to listen to it.

    You may also read the module tip transcript by clicking on the Transcript link.

    5. 2 MODULE LESSONS After reading and listening to the module information, click on the 1 st module lesson.

    The Lesson information loads on the right. Read the Lesson Information and the Lesson Objectives. You may use the ICON VIEW or TEXT VIEW to navigate through the Lesson content.

    TEXT VIEW

    Click on the Lesson topics and follow the instructions (displayed above) in each.

    Once you have completed the Lesson topics complete the Self Test.

    Read the Self Test instructions on the right and then click [Start].

    Once you have finished the Self Test move onto the next Lesson.

    Once you have completed all the lessons and their activities browse through the Glossary of terms used in thee-learning course.

    Once you have browsed through the Glossary close the e-learning course window by clicking on the Close icon[X] in the top right corner of the window.

    6 E-LEARNING ASSESSMENTSSome e-learning courses have assessments.

    To complete the e-learning course assessment, from the My Learning page, click on the Product Name (coursetitle).

    Click on the Assessment link. Read the assessment information and click on the [Take Assessment] button.Remember to put dedicated time aside to complete the assessment - you cannot stop it half way otherwise all

    your unanswered questions will be considered as incorrect.

    7 ACCESS YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS Click on the My Achievements link on the left hand menu.

    All the e-learning courses that you have begun are displayed in this page.

    You can email this information to your supervisor / manager. To do this select all the text from the words My Achievements click and drag your cursor to the bottom of the

    table.

    Right Click and select Copy.

    Go to Microsoft Outlook and start a New e-mail.

    In the body of the email, right click and select Paste.

    Your Achievements page will be copied into the email. Address your email and add an appropriate subject line, and send your email.

    8 RESUME AN INCOMPLETE E-LEARNING COURSE To resume and uncompleted course, in the My learning or My Achievements, click on the name of the e-

    learning course you want to complete.

    On the top right of the page, click on the [Resume This Course] button.

    9 PRINT E-LEARNING CERTIFICATE FOR A COMPLETED COURSE To print your certificate, in the My Achievements, click on the name of the e-learning course you have

    completed.

    On the top right of the page, click on the Print Certificate link.

    Follow the instructions in the pop-up to change your print settings for your page to Landscape click [Ok].

    Click the print toolbar button to print your certificate.

    You can also save your certificate as a PDF document. Click the Save toolbar button to save your certificate as a PDF file.

    Click the Create new folder button.

    Create a new Folder Called My Certificates.

    Your name

    Double-Click on the new folder to open it. Modify the file name. We suggest adding the Course number.

    Click the [Save] button.
