step by step cd cover

Using photoshopTRANSCRIPT
Making the CD
Front cover
This is my original image I had to start with.
All I have done here is dragged the picture into Photoshop.
Next I used crop to select the part of the picture I wanted to use.
Going into; file – image – adjustments – curves
I used the tool “curves”, this changes the brightness / contrast of the picture.
The objective with using this tool was to make it a lot more dark and ominous to give of a perversion of mystery.
Using the text button on the left tool bar, I created the name of my music artist/artist’s.
The next step to my cover was to add the “parental advisory” logo.
I obtained this from www.google.co.uk/images.
I applied it to the other image by opening it up as a separate layer into Photoshop, unlocked the picture here by double clicking and then dragged the item onto the other image.
Using free transform “ctrl-t”, I sized the parental advisory logo.
Here is my final piece with the added writing.
I could then edit the writing to give it different colours and effects, like adding shadow.
I did this by double clicking here and playing with the effects.
Back Cover
To make my back cover I used two images.
I used curves to make the image darker
and to highlight the person making the light trail of fire.
I used the drop tool to cut out the light trail.
Using this sky I then unlocked the layer and dragged it on top of the other image, and then I free transformed the image.
Using the “T” button, which means the writing tool I used an orange coloured text to write in all the tracks of my songs.
The final touches were made by inserting a barcode, using layers.
Also I have finished all the writing here.
The last thing I done to my image was “flatten” it, this is done by clicking image-flatten.
By flattening the image I can therefore merge all the layers into one piece.
