Step 1: Open the vmware workstation console File New Virtual Machine
Choose Typical Next
Step 2: select your installer disc image file from your local drive

Step 4: Select your virtual machine (vmx) file store location

Step 5: size of your total OS
Step 6: If you want to customize your hardware, please select customize option

Step 7: After successfully configured virtual settings, please select one again edit virtual machine
settings because of autoinst.iso file may created on CD/DVD. Here the problem is you cann’t partition
your os, it will automatically install linux os. Please delete this one.

Step 8: Power on the virtual machine
Note : If OS not automatically boot, It show only block window, go F2 option when you’re power on the
machine, select CD/DVD in boot option and save it, run it again,it should boot your Linux
Step 9: select Skip

Step 15: If you want to modify your partition, Tick the Review option on bottom of the this window

Step 17: this is the partition, its comes default,If you don’t want LVM and you want to modify partition,
just delete all the partition.

Step 18: After deleted
Step 19: you want to need partition, select new and modify your Hard disk partition size what ever your
size want, just example here
I give some example for creation, you should give an appropriate size for /, /var , /usr/local, /opt and
/home
Or if you don’t want separate partition like above, I just want to give the full size for root mount point. It
will consider all the partition as a root mount point not separately.
Note:
Root mount point / 5GB need (May be less,but give this size for root)
/usr partition should need more than 3GB, so select 5GB for /usr
/boot 100MB
