PoNS™ device delivers electrical
stimulation directly to the surface of
the tongue. Precautions for use are
like those for transcutaneous electrical
nerve stimulation (TENS). Electrical
stimulation SHOULD NOT be used: if
there is an active or suspected malignant
tumor, in areas of recent bleeding or
open wounds, or in areas that lack normal
sensation. PoNS™ has not been tested on,

Have you been diagnosedwith Multiple Sclerosis?
Are you havingtrouble walking?
In a study of 20 patients with multiple sclerosis, it was shown using the PoNS™ device in combination with physical therapy over 14 weeks led to a significant improvement in gait, as compared to physical therapy alone.
95% of all study patients experienced improvement in their gait however, the PoNS Treatment™ group, on average, had 2x improvement in their gait scores1.

What is PoNS™ and PoNS Treatment™?
What is neuromodulation?Neuromodulation is the modification of nerve activity through delivery of a targeted stimulus. This may promote neuroplasticity – the ability of the nervous system to adapt and restructure itself.
People who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) may have challenges with walking and gait.
Problems with walking and gait can stop you from moving through life with confidence. You may feel unsteady, be dependent on walking aids, or be unable to do the activities that bring enjoyment to your life.
PoNS Treatment™ may help.
The device is intended for use as a short term treatment (14 weeks) of gait deficit due to mild and moderate symptoms from MS and is to be used in conjunction with physical therapy.
PoNS Treatment™ ProgramDuring the 14-week PoNS Treatment™, a Certified
PoNS™ Trainer works with you using targeted therapeutic activities focusing on walking and gait.
These activities are tailored to your individual needs and may include:
• Walking on a treadmill • Balancing on the floor or on foam padding • Movement exercises • Breathing and awareness
Certified PoNS™ Trainers work out of Authorized PoNS Treatment™ Clinics, which are selected based on their capabilities and experiences treating
neurological conditions.

PoNS™ is an innovative, nonsurgical, and non-pharmacological medical device that is used with targeted therapeutic activities to treat gait deficit due to the mild to moderate symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. The PoNS™ consists of a controller, worn around the neck during treatment, connected to a mouthpiece via a cord. The PoNS™ mouthpiece gently stimulates the surface of the tongue, exciting the neural network flowing to the brain. This neural activity is believed to enable neuroplasticity, which has the potential to restore gait in individuals with gait deficit due to the symptoms of MS.
PoNS Treatment™ is a 14-week program that combines in-clinic and in-home use of the PoNS™ device guided by a Certified PoNS™ Trainer. For the first two weeks of treatment, you will work with a Certified PoNS™ Trainer in an Authorized PoNS Treatment™ Clinic. This is followed by 12 weeks of individual, at-home sessions with weekly clinic check-ins. The treatment is 6 days per week with 3 sessions a day, however, your Certified PoNS™ Trainer may recommend more or fewer sessions depending on your needs and capabilities.
