Manulife Real Estate has been developing commercial real estate for over 80

years. With more than 50 commercial office properties developed, we have

defined skylines in cities across North America and as far reaching as the United

Kingdom, Barbados and Asia.

The strength and capabilities that we bring to developments ensure timely

delivery and consistent management of our properties. We approach

development projects with a long-term view of owning and managing the

building well after completion. After development, the asset will continue to

be proudly managed by Manulife Real Estate. We apply our long history in

successful asset management to all our properties. In fact, Manulife Real Estate

currently manages several assets we developed over 30 years ago.

The result of this vertically integrated platform is improved communication and

transparency during the development process with a focus on quality and an

understanding of tenant’s needs from their workplace. Manulife does not rely

on debt or other forms of financing for the development or management of our

properties. This eliminates any delays due to funding complications.

At Manulife Real Estate, we believe that sustainability and social responsibility are a team effort. As part of this commitment, we introduce sustainability initiatives across our portfolio, such as electrical vehicle charging stations and client education programs. We also work to continuously increase the number of properties in our portfolio with LEED, BOMA Best and Energy Star designations.

In 2017, we set new five-year energy, water and waste targets for our global portfolio. We believe targets encourage asset and property managers to manage sustainability as a business issue, identify cost-saving opportunities and help reduce our environmental footprint.

In 2018, we implemented a new environmental data management system to save property managers time, increase efficiency and improve data quality, so that we receive actionable information sooner.
