10 Years!!! It has been a decade full of ups and downs that at

times left us wondering why we are even doing this. When the seasons starts to change and the snow starts to fall we are reminded why we do what we do…..what a

bunch of horseshit!

We are one of the last few independent brands left in an industry that has been overrun by outside corporations, car sponsors and energy drinks. We have survived completely on duct tape, siphoned gas, ramen noodles and a

lot of hard work . As an independent brand we have refused outside investments offers - we don’t take money from vultures (maybe that’s where we went wrong).

StepChild couldn’t have made it to where we are today if it wasn’t for all of the people that decided to roll the dice and give our small brand a chance . I would like to personally thank all of the shops, distributors, magazines, photographers, filmers and riders

out there that have ever strapped a StepChild snowboard on their feet-regardless of it being for just one day, a season or even a whole decade (Thanks Simon!).

While the haters are sitting around on a stinky couch taking bong rips in a basement suite and complaining on the internet about how fucked snowboarding is, we drag our sorry asses to the office, the hill, shops and trade shows and try to do something about it.

This season we have combined all of our love, bitterness, experience, hard work, broken bones, sweat and tears over the last Ten years to bring you what we feel is our strongest board line to date. We never set out to be the biggest or best snowboard

company in the world. Our goal has always been simple – Make high quality snowboards, enjoy snowboarding. We wouldn’t still be in business if we didn’t. Here is to a decade in this crazy business!

armorcore (high durable construction): ABS/Poplar wood core with glue injection. The ArmorCore is a process that injects glue through integrated channels in the core at the same time that the board is pressed.

Kicker I Core: Poplar Wood Core. Tip-to-tail fully computerized milled and profiled poplar core gives a smooth consistent flex distribution (pattern).

Kicker III Core: Poplar Wood Core with Beech Rails and Beech Insert Strips. Tip-to-tail fully computerized milled and profiled poplar core gives a smooth consistent flex pattern. The denser Beech wood re enforced rails give the board stable edge control and a poppy flex. The insert strips are for compression strength where the corners of the bindings normally crush the wood core. We use 4 strips of high-density beech to increase the strength in this critical zone.

Bamboo Kicker Core: Poplar wood core with beech power rails and tip to tail bamboo insert strips. The denser Beech wood rails give the board stable edge control and a poppy flex. The bamboo insert strips are for compression strength where the corners of the bindings normally crush the wood core. The 4 strips of bamboo are to increase the strength in this zone and running tip to tail givethe board an overall better pop and longer lasting flex pattern.

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES

armadillo Plate:is a diamond shaped extra layer of fiberglass placed over the inserts to help prevent insert blowouts. The unique diamond shape strengthens the board around the inserts without interrupting the flex pattern.

rETT: round Edge Tapered Tuning “The board comes from the factory with the option of pre-dulled edges between the bindings that gradually gets sharper as it reaches the nose and tail. Basically you can put bindings on it and dive into your local double kink without any hesitation. Its sick.” - JP

rocker: reverse CamberThe board is pressed to resemble the bottom of a rocking chair. The rocker gives the board an easy riding feel as it is “pre flexed” going into turns. It works well for parks, jibs and powder.

Trojan rubber 2.0:Exclusively on the Jibstick, Trojan Rubber 2.0. Two rubber strips are inserted in the boards sidewall to act as a shock absorber.

Twin:The board is a true twin with a centered stance and sidecut. The tip and tail are identical.

Park Formula Sidewall:is made of a material known as Philan which is lighter and harder than rubber but provides very similar impact absorption. It is much like the material used in a skateboard bushing. The park formula sidewall is meant to take a serious beat down.

Snag Free Bases:Are hardened in the press by a temperature control system that cooks the base harder as it sandwiches the board. The base material comes out of the press much harder than it went in (which is usually the opposite in the bedroom). Snag Free bases have no die cuts or joints in the base material which is usually how the board will snag.

d-Twin:The sidecut, flex pattern and stance are all twin. The difference with a DTWin (Directional twin) is that the nose is slightly longer from the contact point forward. This little bit of extra nose (approx 10mm) helps to keep the board above the snow in powder and new snow conditions. In slush or hard pack snow conditions this board rides exactly like a twin.

Kevlar:Kevlar is a lightweight material known for its strength. We added Kevlar strips to the whole length of the JP board to give it more pop in the flex. The Kevlar will also help you get more days riding with a lively and consistent flex because nobody likes to ride a dead board.

Bamboo:Bamboo is lightweight, resilient, and when used in the wood core of a snowboard it gives the board a longer flex life as well as more pop. It makes a board much stronger without making it stiffer.

Zero-Camber: The board is flat with no rocker and no camber. Great for all types of riding conditions from rails to powder.

The whole idea behind this board is to destroy it! The street recession has no metal

edges. With no metal edges you can hit wood and aluminum rails where steel edges

would stick or catch. This is a Zero Camber board with a tip to tail sandwich wood

core. The base is stone ground for an ideal finish. The street recession board opens

up a lot of jib features that you just can’t take a metal edge board to. The Street

Recession also comes with a snag free base. This is a street and urban specific

board. Keep your mountain board fresh while you destroy this thing on the streets.
