50 years ago, singer-songwriter STEPHEN STILLS met singer-songwriter JUDY COLLINS. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes”, performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. Both artists would go on to shape modern music with visionary approaches, but Stills and Collins’ short fiery union remains a transformative era for the two artists.

This summer, the two icons of folk will celebrate the golden anniversary of that formative time together. Their joint summer tour marks the first time ever Stills and Collins have been onstage together. For this once in a lifetime experience, the two music legends will pull from their rich catalogs, and debut songs from their upcoming album due out this summer. They will also be sharing warm intimate stories from their journey shaping the 1960’s Laurel Canyon folk scene they helped build. judycollins.com; stephenstills.com

help Elect a delegate! Was there a proxy included in your assessment bill this June? Proxies are mailed to facilitate the LMVA election of District Delegates which takes place in October. If you do not plan to attend the election proceedings in-person, complete our proxy and mail it back to LMVA. Proxies are available at the Lake office if you cannot locate your copy. There are several options for completing your proxy: 1. You may designate the current LMVA Board of Directors. 2. You may name and designate any Lake Association member, other than

yourself to vote your proxy. 3. You may indicate that you want your proxy counted toward the quorum

requirements for the election meeting(s) to help meet the 25% quorum requirements to conduct business.

Some members do not receive proxies. LMVA members living in the “Sub-Associations” do not receive proxies. These Sub-Associations each elect their LMVA District Delegate at their Board of Directors meetings as required by the Sub-Association’s governing documents. For more information about elections for your District Delegate, contact your homeowner’s association Board of Directors.

On Tuesday, October 10th at 7:00 pm in the LMVA Administration Building, the reconvened meetings of the Non-Sub Association Districts that did not reach a quorum at the October 3rd meeting will be held. The twenty-five percent (25%) quorum requirement is also required at these reconvened meetings. The October Board of Directors Meeting will be held immediately following the Non-Sub Association District reconvened meetings.A Candidates Forum is scheduled for Tuesday October 24th at 6 :00 pm in the Lake Clubhouse for any member wishing to meet with candidates running for Board of Director positions that evening. The culmination of the election process occurs following the Candidates Forum on Tuesday, October 24th at 7:00 pm with the Annual Meeting of the Lake Delegates. The election of the Board of Directors takes place at this meeting. Two Board positions are up for election in 2017. A quorum of District Delegates representing twenty five percent (25%) of the membership is required to conduct the election. The District Delegates will then cast votes to elect Board positions. LMVA members are invited to attend all of the meetings in the election process. This gives members an opportunity to support their District Delegate and to meet the individuals who are seeking to serve on the LMVA Board of Directors.

It is time once again to elect your District Delegate to Lake Mission Viejo Association. The list of

delegates adjacent to this article represents the current delegates for all districts in LMVA. There are two types of delegate elections held annually. Sub Associations to LMVA elect their own delegates during their annual Board of Director elections. LMVA assists Non-Sub Association districts with the process explained below. As you can see, there a large number of vacancies in the Non-Sub districts due to a change in the LMVA By-Laws requiring members to own property in the districts they represent. For more information on how to become a District Delegate, call LMVA at (949) 770-1313, ext. 215. The first step in the process is the District Delegate Non-Sub Association Meetings, to be held concurrently, on Tuesday, October 3rd at 7:00 pm in the LMVA Administrative Building. These annual meetings are held to elect District Delegates in all Non-Sub Association Delegate Districts. A quorum of twenty-five percent (25%) of members represented in person or by written proxy is required to conduct business in a Delegate District. It is not too early to consider who your District Delegate is and to contact your Delegate to talk about their accomplishments over the past year and their intentions for next year.

fishing is Back at lMVLake Mission Viejo is rebounding with fish survivability now at 100% after a tough winter living with Golden Algae. 300 pounds of Tilapia, averaging 1½ pounds each, and 300 pounds of Channel Catfish, averaging 2½ pounds each were stocked Wednesday, July 19th. On August 1st, 1,500 pounds of Tilapia and 500 pounds of Catfish were stocked in the Lake. Conditions have improved further, leading to another 1000 pound stock of Tilapia on August 15th. Anglers are also fishing for “Cats” in the evenings. Look for more stockings into the Fall if Lake conditions remain positive!

Golden Algae is not harmful to humans or other mammals. Water conditions are otherwise healthy, and there have been no reports of any illness related to water use or contact at the Lake. Frequent Lake monitoring and regular water testing will continue at the Lake, as it always has to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience at Lake Mission Viejo.

what’s Next?Lake water conditions are excellent, with the exception of Golden Algae. GA levels look like they have finally come down as of mid-July. Staff monitors the water conditions daily, tests fish viability weekly, and samples for Golden Algae counts every other week. There were no signs of a spring spawn from the remaining Bass and Tilapia populations, which normally occurs from March to June. A bass was caught, and released, a few weeks ago, and fishfinders indicate a few schools of fish in the Lake.
