Effectively communicating about diverse and challenging palliative care topics may come with having to apply your communication skills in unfamiliar settings. The aim for this workshop is to build capacity among palliative medicine physicians to deliver key messages when advocating for the palliative care needs of patients and their families. Participants will learn practical tools and strategies to advance their communication skills and gain comfort with diverse contexts such as media interviews, discussions with hospital leadership or engaging potential donors. Mr. Cameron-Lewis is a communications consultant with extensive experience coaching others in presentation skills for leadership roles, public speaking events and media interviews. He currently works as International Associate Faculty and Communications Consultant for the International Palliative Care Leadership Development Initiative. In addition to this work, Mr. Cameron-Lewis is a consultant for CBC TV and is actively engaged in coaching senior executives and others in the medical, academic and business world.
