Side Effects of Steroids

BALDNESS can be caused by steroid abuse.

Because of how steroids act on the limbic system in the brain, MOOD SWINGS, including homicidal rage, can occur.

Taking “roids” can cause PIMPLES to pop up (body acne)

Females who take steroids can become more MASCULINE. Their voices can deepen.

A condition called ATHEROSCLEROSIS can be caused by steroid use. This condition can lead to a HEART ATTACK or STROKE.

When the body’s hormone balance is disrupted by taking steroids, males can develop BREASTS, a condition called GYNECOMASTIA.

Increased levels of hormones signal bones to STOP growing.

Ergogenic Aids

Dietary supplements that are marketed as promoters of muscle conditioning are called performance aids or ergogenic aids

Some are safe but ineffective, some are both unsafe and ineffective

Manufacturers of these products do not have to prove their products are safe or effective before offering them on the open market

These products that are ineffective or unsafe may be removed but after the product is “tested” on the buying public

generated by the kidneys and stored in muscle cells (you can consume more by eating more meat) ATP loses a phosphate during high intensity

exercise, taking creatine is like a reservoir that supplied more phosphates= lengthier more intense sessions
