Worst NightmareSusie’s youngest daughter, Christie, was just 17 years old when she died at the Broward County Fair – killed when the ride she was on broke in midair.

aN avoidable tragedyThe cause? No one had inspected the ride to see a crack in the metal that had been painted over. The state only had six safety inspectors, and carnival rides were practically unregulated.
