    STEVE STOCKMAN

Stephen Ernest "Steve" Stockman was born on November 14, 1956 and is an

American politician who currently holds the United States Representative for Texas's 36th

congressional district. A Republican, Stockman previously served as the U.S. Representative

for Texas's ninth congressional district from 1995 to 1997. His wife Patti is employed by

NASA where she oversees all the agency policy on privacy and records management. Patti

has also served on the Board of Directors for Concern Woman for America. She is also

active in various Christian and conservative causes and enjoys participation in Bible Study

Fellowship, International. Stockman was returned to Congress in 2012 by winning two

upset elections, representing Texas newly created 36th District.

Representative Steve Stockman was born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan outside

Detroit. He attended and graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Michigan. He

attended San Jacinto College from 1985 to 1986, and transferred in 1990; to the University

of Houston-Clear Lake where he had earned a bachelor's degree Political Science.

Interesting enough Stockmen was actually homeless during this time and reverted to the

Christian faith. He worked for IBM as an accountant in the computer sales and lab

    researcher.

He first ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1990 against Democratic U.S.

Representative Jack Brooks. Beaumont, Texas mayor Maury Meyers ranked first in the

Republican primary with a little less than half of the votes of the vote, but failed to reach

the 50% threshold. Stockman, earned 41% of the vote and faced Meyers in a run-off.

Meyers defeated Stockman 61%-39%(1). In the general election, Meyers lost to Brooks,

58%-42%. During the first hundred days of being a Representative, Steve fought to reduce

the size and scope of the federal government, starting with Congress itself. His plan was

Drier/Stockman package of opening day reforms; Steve saved taxpayers millions of dollars

each year by dramatically cutting down the hierarchy of the House by eliminating three full

house committees, 23 subcommittees and cutting committee staff by one-third. Steve

worked tirelessly to protect the US Constitution. In less than 100 days, he pushed welfare

reform legislation, a $500-per-child tax credit for families, a balanced budget amendment

and regulatory relief legislation. He was named The Taxpayers Best Friend and was one

of the most ardent defenders of Constitution in Congress. Steve worked hard to represent

the immediate concerns of families and employers in his Texas district. He authored the

bills to give federal tax credits to anyone who had children in private school or were home

educated, which later become a popular alterative to vouchers. Representative Stockman as

well as Paul Kramer authored Megans Law, the well-known law protects children from

pedophiles by allowing notification of communities when a sex offender moves into their

area. Congressman Stockman claims to vote tax cuts, his own salary, and the number of

congressional committees. Stockman never asked for nor received a federal earmark to

benefit his district. Instead, he believed the best earmark was no earmark. (2)

After leaving Congress in 1997, Steve acquired nearly 36 securities-insurance

licenses, later became president of a fiber optics company, and served as vice president of a

Texas national bank. Steve served as a national and international political consultant for a

variety of government and political entities. Congressman Stockman also aided third world

countries by shipping non-profit medicine and medical equipment. Congressman Stockman

has taught political technology for the Leadership Institute for years all over the country

and served as director of its Campus Leadership Program. As director, Steve helped start

more then a thousand conservative groups on college campuses. In addition, he raised well

over a million dollars for these programs. Steve served with thev Hugh OBrian Youth

Leadership Foundation. And was a speaker at the UN global warming conference in

Copenhagen, Denmark on behalf of Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).

Later he became Vice President of Executive Development at Committee For A Constructive

    Tomorrow (CFACT).

Steve Stockman has accomplished much in his life as prior mentioned he holds an

outstanding work history that dwarfs many resumes and appears to have created such a

legacy at an early age. Stockman and his wife both seem to adore technology as well as

helping those who are in need of assistance. In all Steve Stockman appears to be a just man

who holds a clean correct politician and truly believes in justice for all.
