A Note from the Rector

“We need places to pray as if someone were listening, to study as if we might learn something worth writing on our hearts, to join with others in service as if the world might be transformed. Churches are places to learn to practice, with others, a continu-al conversion of life, a permanent openness to change.” -Stephanie Paulsell

In a world that is so dangerous, so stressful, so divided, so uncaring, with so

few reasons for hope, we look to Christ Church to be a sign of the reign of God. Christ Church reminds us of our many blessings. It also reminds us of the call to respond to needs following the way of life of Jesus. It connects us with one another, but also takes us beyond our own daily life, to have a broader vision and deeper involvement.

Being devoted to a church and its ministry is no longer the norm in our society.

It is something a person has to intentionally choose to do, find joy in doing, be commit-ted to being a part. It is a choice for what we call eternal life, which has less to do with longevity than with fullness. I am grateful to God for every member of this parish, because together we make each other’s lives different than they would be without one another, and we make a positive difference in this world. That is how we say thank you to God. This is how we say, “I know and I am glad to belong to you, O Lord.” Yours in Christ, Tim+
