Organisation St Mary’s Before and After School Care Scheme was established in March 1998 to provide a service to families needing child care that attend St Mary’s C.E. (A) School. The care scheme is managed by the Governors of St Mary’s and is operated by Karen Burgess as Manager and Gayna Jones Deputy Manager. There are several qualified playworkers who have many years experience and are encouraged to attend relevant training course.

Illness and medication Parents and guardians will be contacted immediately if a child is unwell or has a serious accident. Please inform us if any contact details change, it is important that we can contact you. Medication cannot be administered by any members of our staff unless life threatening e.g. asthma inhaler. First aid First aid will be given when necessary by a qualified member of staff and details will be recorded. Allergies and Dietary requirements If your child has any allergies or dietary requirements, please provide this information on their registration form and discuss it in more detail with the Manager if necessary. Operational details Where possible you will be advised in advance of any changes to the club. Equal Opportunities We recognise that all children who use the club have individual needs and requirements and the club aims to operate an equal opportunities policy

Care of your children Collection of children Please introduce yourself to the clubs manager and staff so that we are aware of the parents and guardians responsible for collecting each child. You must let us know if there is a change in routine and you have arranged for someone different to collect your child/children. Please be aware that if a child is left for an unacceptable amount of time and we are unable to contact you, or one of your nominated contacts, then our policy is to contact the police and social services. If you anticipate being late you must contact Diamonds in order for us to reassure your child. Behaviour Our behaviour policy states that all children will be treated with equal respect and concern. Disruptive and inappropriate behaviour will be diffused quickly. Appropriate action will be taken, in exceptional circumstances continuous inappropriate behaviours will result in loss of place at the club.

Policies and Procedures Our Policies and Procedures are available for you to view at any time and copies are available upon request.
