Stocklake Link Road (urban)
Highway Improvement Scheme
Bulletin #13 14th July 2016
Dear Residents and Businesses,
With the completion of the new link road, works on site are now focusing on the next phase of
construction. The development of the service road parking bays are now underway and night works on
the Park Street roundabout are planned for w/c 18th July.
There will be full night closures of the Park Street roundabout from 19.00hrs - 06.00hrs on 18th - 22nd
July for resurfacing of the roundabout and approach roads. It is necessary for the work to be undertaken
overnight as the road closures would not be possible during the day due to traffic flows. Noise and
disruption will be kept to a minimum and it has been agreed that the road closures can start from
19.00hrs so that the noisiest works (removal of the existing road surface) can be started as early as
possible. Local businesses, residents and their visitors will have access to their homes and businesses
at all times during the closure but will need to follow diversion routes. Pedestrians and cyclists will also
have access.
The new link road was fully opened to traffic on 22nd June. There was an opening procession of fire
engines along the new road led by Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (BF&RS) to mark the
event.
BF&RS also conducted a road safety demonstration on a section of ‘old Stocklake’ between their station
and Farnborough Close. The event was a training exercise for multiple emergency service personnel
and Councillor Phil Gomm acted as the ‘casualty’ who was rescued from the vehicle.

Construction Phase Plan
NMC have created a new construction phase plan which has been sent out with this bulletin. This plan
demonstrates where works will be happening and on what dates for the conversion of ‘old’ Stocklake
into an access road. Although we are planning on sticking to this plan, please note that this may be
subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances that occur during construction and adverse weather.
Once work to construct the new parking laybys on the North side of existing Stocklake, work will transfer
to the South side of Stocklake closest to the houses. We will be letting residents know, by means of a
letter drop, when work will be taking place immediately outside their house and will be doing our best to
minimise any disruption.
Thank you to all those people who have completed the questionnaire sent out with the previous bulletin.
There is still time to have your say if you haven’t already. The survey will take no more than 5 minutes
to complete and will help to identify areas where we can celebrate best practice/great work and also
seek to further improve in the next phase of works This will also assist us in the design and number of
controlled parking spaces. To take the survey, please click here
