Welcome to our world
Enjoy x
Servicing both her James St and Westfield
Carindale clientele, Samantha has managed
to curate two diverse galleries yet maintain
the raw and rustic aesthetic of her brand.
Having forged a reputation as one of
Brisbane’s finest artisan, Samantha’s passion
is evident as she talks you through her
inspirations. For her, nature is key where
raw elements are sourced from the earth
and blended together in a way that not only
celebrates their beauty, but also enhances it.
“We are the middle man for the wonders
of the earth. Elements of the earth are cut,
polished, shaped and brought together to
create precious glittering magic” she muses.
“The true beauty of Stone And Metal lies
with our clients who come from all walks of
life. Our customers come through our doors Stone And Metal
Behind the scenes
and unearth their own treasure, whether it
be something rugged and raw or slightly
more refined, the piece speaks to them and
becomes a part of their style story.”
So why do the best of Brisbane flock to Stone
And Metal for statement pieces through to
casual chains? All stock, whether carved by
hand or purchased internationally, is unique.
A token from Stone And Metal becomes so
much more than an adornment, it becomes
an heirloom.
Enjoy your Stone And Metal read and
we look forward to seeing you in our
galleries soon!

Meet the Metalsmith
Bohemian beach vibes meet minimalist city styling where structure
and strong metals intertwine with earthy elements for the perfect
fusion of contemporary and cool. Influenced by the world around her,
Samantha builds a story into each piece with every stone, gem and
element serving a purpose. With the recent launch of her collections
Botanica and Tribe, we sit down with the designer to find out what
makes her tick as a goldsmith, business owner, wife, mother and muse.
What does ‘style’ mean to you? It’s self expression. When you know
yourself and are confident in who you are, your style becomes more
simple and streamlined and that’s when it is the most striking.
What is your biggest achievement
to date? Aside from the obvious
(creating three amazing little
human beings!), being a finalist
in both 2014 and 2015 for
the JIA Jewellery Retailer of
The Year. This is Australia wide
and every other retailer in our
category was about diamonds
and engagement rings, so it was
really encouraging to see that
people appreciate something
outside of the mainstream.
What is your go to outfit? Jeans,
a silk shirt and a beautiful pair
of statement earrings. Comfort
is key.
“Nature is key. Ultimately, this is who we are: elements of the earth cut, polished, shaped and brought together to create precious glittering magic.”
What is the biggest risk you
have taken in your career so
far? Opening my first gallery
at a time when people said
retail was dying. I just had
to stay true to my vision and
trust my instincts and it was
so rewarding when people
responded to that. Our tribe
of likeminded lovers of unique
jewellery is growing every day.
Where do you find inspiration
season after season? The
world around me. Nature is
so rich in unexpected colour
combinations, shapes and
textures - it’s impossible not to
see something new every time
you look. I am inspired by many
forms of human expression also,
architecture and street style in
particular. Especially when I
travel. I’m like a sponge.
What is your favourite piece of
jewellery? My wedding ring.
It’s a simple gold band but the
gold comes from my mother and
mother-in-law’s first wedding
ring. I loved the idea of bringing
that all together.
Have you always been
fascinated by accessories and
making jewellery? Always. I
remember turning two Michael
Jackson key rings into a pair of
earrings to wear to my first Blue
Light Disco in Grade 6 (it was
the early 80’s!).
Describe your studio to us?
Boxes of raw stones just waiting
for their turn to shine. Slabs of
silver looking all industrial and
unassuming and tools, tools,
tools. It’s organised chaos – to
me, not to the untrained eye!
Raised in Melbourne and spending the
majority of her teenage years by the
magical beaches of Northern New South
Wales, there is little wonder where
Samantha draws her inspiration from.

Appreciated for its’ tactile textures and earthy hues,
horn is warm to the touch and light in weight making
it the ideal accessory.
“The cow and buffalo horn used
by Stone And Metal is ethically
sourced. These materials are a
by-product of existing industries
and, as such, we are fortunate to
be able to use these natural gifts
to make beautiful jewellery.”

… which celebrates Mother Nature in shades
of Coral, Jade and Lapis Lazuli. Drawing
upon seedpods, delicate wings and Summer-
garden tones for inspiration, the jewellery is
a celebration of classic Queensland terrain
and styling where bold statements and natural
elements are always favoured.
An accessory ‘connoisseur’, Samantha
understands the value of a statement piece
and works to blur the line between fashion,
functionality and affordability.
“We aim to show people that these natural beauties not only work with your of-the-moment fashions but are enduring quality pieces of craftsmanship that will last a lifetime yet not cost the earth.”

This collection celebrates the art of
female adornment. Taking inspiration
from its’ very earliest forms, Samantha
aims to show that jewellery is timeless,
raceless and enduring.
Across cultures, from continent to continent and
throughout the ages women have styled themselves in
decorative ornamentation. Whether symbols steeped
in tradition, stones rich in meaning or pieces to
signify a status, self decoration is an integral part
of what it is to be a woman. And in this, we the
world over, are part of one sisterhood ...

#mywayNo matter your age, size,
shape or income, ‘style’
comes in all forms.
Bucking trends and designing from the
heart, Samantha Anderson curates her
galleries with a number of women in mind,
where one bangle can transform and renew
from customer to customer. From the ‘less
is more’ lady who elegantly displays her
bangle on her arm to the boho goddess
who layers it up with other treasures, each
Stone And Metal piece can be interpreted
and worn to suit you.
The successful #myway social media
campaign involved a selection of stylish
local and national ladies who were invited
into the Stone And Metal world to select,
style and photograph their favourite pieces
“their way”.
From young and trendy street-stylers
through to luxury loving ladies, the
campaign was designed to prove that
fashion (accessories in particular) integrate
into your lifestyle and journey – not the
other way around.
