What we will learn today

• Today we will practice what we learned before about how we can protect ourselves if our clothes, or someone else’s clothes, catch on fire.

Page 3: Stop, Drop and Roll. What we will learn today Today we will practice what we learned before about how we can protect ourselves if our clothes, or someone

We have already learned that:

• If we get too close to fire or something that is very hot, our clothes could catch on fire.

• Fire needs oxygen to survive, so when you take oxygen away from a fire, it goes out

Remember when we talked about the Fire Triangle?

Page 5: Stop, Drop and Roll. What we will learn today Today we will practice what we learned before about how we can protect ourselves if our clothes, or someone

And when we remove any one side of the triangle, like taking

away the oxygen, the fire cannot survive

• If someone else is on fire:– make sure they don’t run– use a blanket to smother the fire– put water on them to put out the fire

• Remember - You can avoid being burned if you stay away from things that are hot and never playing with matches or lighters.
