All university

students are

eligible but must

be members of

a team and must

be registered withthe same institution.

Students should form

a team with a minimum

of two members and a

maximum of four. Each

team will be required to

pay a registration fee of

R150.00. All students are

eligible irrespective of their

field of study.

The JSE Investment Challenge is an investment game for

students, like you, where you learn the fundamentals of

investing on the JSE.

The challenge offers you the opportunity to learn about

investments through managing a virtual portfolio of a cool

R1,000,000! This exciting game is brought to you by the JSE.

As only your imaginary million is at risk, you have nothing to

lose and everything to gain. In fact, over the 40 years that thechallenge has been running, many participants have been

so excited by what theyve learned, that they aspire to turn

their knowledge into a career. After all, when you know how

to make your money work for you, you can build a bright,

financially secure future for yourself!

Participating teams test their trading

skills through an ongoing annual

simulated trading programme in which

their performance is tracked and

measured over six months. Teams

manage one investment portfolio.

SPECULATOR (HIGH VOLATILITY)

This portfolio has an opening value of R1,000,000 in cash.

The portfolio may include any share or warrant.

The ultimate goal is to ensure maximum growth of the portfolio.

Income derived from corporate actions, such as cash dividends, are added

to the portfolio.

No more than 20% of the portfolio may be held in one share or warrant.

TV (e.g. SABCs Business Beat)

Annual Reports of companies listed

on the JSE

Newsletters of the companies you are

considering investing in

JSE website (www.jse.co.za)

Remember that regular team meetingsand frequent trading enhance the

effective growth of a portfolio.

Registration commences in January 2014. Trading starts in March 2014 and

ends in September 2014. The prize giving ceremony will be held in October
