3. FY20 Media & Promotions The Committee discussed the following planned media:

Fall Leaves & Lawn Care – new creative (chalkboard styling) ran from Oct 7-13. The Committee reviewed the campaign summary.

Spring campaign Pet Waste paid media campaign –existing creative

The Committee continued to discuss a strategy and messaging for utilizing vinyl sidewalk decals for an outreach campaign. HRPDC staff provided feedback to RCS about expense of designing stickers.

RCS responded by providing two designs for the Committee to review.

o Hampton would need artwork approved by city council. HRPDC

staff can reach out to CAOs if needed.

o Norfolk expressed concern that there was no direct mention of

stormwater. Committee direction to RCS was for a sentimental

art installation, not necessarily a good to know/good to do

message.

o The Committee discussed adding "only rain down the drain" or

storm drain medallion imagery to the designs.

o Localities could pick either design for production.

askHRgreen social media branding campaign – ongoing

Action: HRPDC staff will request updated artwork from Red Chalk for Committee review and feedback.

4. Regional Priorities for Stormwater Public Outreach

The Committee continued to discuss a car wash outreach campaign. HRPDC staff will reach out to corporate managers regarding the

campaign (examples: Auto Bell, Carl's Carwash, Green Clean). Localities were encouraged to identify other local car washes. Virginia Beach has had one local car wash sign up as a BSB and will

participate in outreach campaign. The Committee reviewed artwork for the auto wipe. HRPDC staff will

revise as discussed and resend the artwork for Committee review.

Fundraiser carwash and geese management rack cards were made available for pickup. Storm Drain Stenciling – At the stormwater managers meetings Chesapeake inquired about stenciling storm drains as a better solution for industrial settings. Phase I permits require marking on all municipal yards. The Committee discussed alternatives including engraving grates. There was no consensus on needing a regional purchase of stencils so HRPDC staff will follow-up with Chesapeake directly. Action: HRPDC staff will reach out to corporate carwashes and resend updated creative for Committee review.

5. Bay Star Homes & Business Program

The Committee discussed any new developments with BSH or BSB.
